Japandi Style: When Japanese and Scandinavian Designs Blend

Purchase two Japandi books on Amazon and this one was clearly superior. Beautiful, inspiring photos, good text. A great addition to anyone's shelf.

Half of the book is on manufactures of furniture. I paid for pictures and content now advertisements.

If you’re interested in learning about individual designers whose work is notable within the Japandi aesthetic and purchasing their specific furniture, this book may be of value to you. This was the strongest component of the book; the limited photos of rooms featured in the book were surprisingly hodge podge. If one were relying on this book to obtain a sense of “Japandi”, the end result might be confusion. If you’re interested in a thoughtful and lucid discussion of Japandi design principles with abundant photos of complete rooms, you’re much better off purchasing Japandi Living by Laila Rietbergen.

I'd been quite eager to get this book. I'm very disappointed. The photos are very similar to one another. Mostly pictures of just a few pieces of furniture. It looks as though a few pieces were randomly dragged together. Evidently not actually in peoples' homes. I love true Japandi. These look like boring parts of a room (almost never an entire room) that look neither Japanese nor Scandinavian.. I'll never decide to pick this up again for enjoyment or enlightenment. Returning.

Was expecting examples of the Japandi Style in real homes. Very, very few pictures of whole spaces decorated in this style. Most pictures were a close up of a chair, or a lamp or table thta would fit in the Japandi esthetic. Lots of pages dedicated to people who make items that might fir the Japandi style as well. But even those had few examples of their work, just pictures of the artisan themselves. In summary, this is NOT a decorating "how to" on any level. Way too much money for a glorified index of minimal craft works. Sent mine back.

Great buy to add to your design collection

The book itself is great and I really like it. The problem is it was just in a poly mailer (not a bubble mailer) and the top front of the book is now damaged.

Thought the book would be bigger and more pages, quality ok but nothing special. Not impessive enough to display on your coffee table, so fails at being very Japandi.

Ich hab mir das Buch bestellt um mich in meiner Einrichtung inspirieren zu lassen! Mir hat’s super gefallen kann es nur empfehlen.

Ho acquistato questo libro per conoscere meglio questo stile di arredamento, utile sia per usi orivati che professionali (uffici, etc)
