battery fit well, did the charge/discharge routine - worked fine for a few days. Now a week or so later it doesn't hold a charge at all. Should have spent the money on the HP version I guess,--------------------------------------edited 27 Jan - they get kudus and two more stars for customer service - they shipped me a new one and I installed yesterday and did the 12 hr initial charge. This battery appears to hold a charge, but so did the first one initially - I will do the charge/discharge/charge cycle as per instructions and then give it a week to see if it does better than the first one. Either way I will update again.edited - 9 Feb 2019 - elevated to 5 stars - this replacement battery is appearing to hold up well. Their customer service was beyond reproach and this battery works fine. Well done folks

Hasn't seemed to degrade where the laptop shuts off instantly (at any percentage) like some other batteries I've had, after this amount of time...I mostly use my G72 (upgraded years ago from core i3 to i5), 8GB RAM, plugged in, but 10-15% of the time I run battery while playing a 40 min DVD. Afterward the battery is is still around 80% (or more).We'll see if it makes the 2 yr mark but this seems to be the best replacement battery I've had (and I've tried 3 over the ~14 yrs I've had this laptop)

The battery was shipped and delivered quickly. Once received, it was a perfect fit. After charging, the support time shown was around 3 hours.The price was very reasonable.

Purchased the battery on July 20, 2024. It would only hold enough charge to keep my laptop on for about 3 hours unplugged while on basic browser usage. A couple months later, a full charge would only keep my laptop on a couple hours and 5 months in, it wouldn’t even charge to 100% (80% on a good day) much less keep the laptop on for more than 30 minutes unplugged. Six months and it would only reach 8% battery power WHILE PLUGGED IN! Now the power is not enough to keep the laptop on even while plugged in.Avoid these batteries, it’s just more e-waste you have to deal with a few months in.

Tried 4 or 5 of the batteries on Amazon that indicated they were compatible. Not true. Tried to update drivers , software, checked the charging cord, nothing worked. One even arrived with the connector that was misaligned. This product arrived in a well packaged box, sealed. When inserted in the machine, dropped right into place. Plugged in and charged. It arrived at 10 percent so I fully charged it and drained it 3 times as suggested. It even had an odd shape to allow for a stand and rubber non-slip feet. It was 40 to 60 percent more than the others but it worked well. If you are like me and have an old DV6 , the battery from HP is no longer available. This one seems to work well.
