I like these strings quite a bit. The coating provides a slightly slippery feeling under the fingers that makes sliding your hands around the fretboard smoother than playing on standard strings. The coating feels more subtle than the coating on the equivalent Elixir strings. They have a balanced tone that lasts and lasts. These easily sound lively and new for more than three times as long as a standard XL set of strings making them a reasonable value proposition. I have used a single set for over a year on one of my guitars and it still sounds close to a new set of strings. One thing I don't like; the ball ends only feature three colors to differentiate the string gauges rather than the typical D'Addario color scheme with six different colors. While you can still identify each string gauge, it is not as easy to figure out what you need from the container because you have to examine both the ball end color and determine whether the string is wound or plain to know what gauge it is.

I used to be a pure nickel string person, but they tarnish and corrode so quickly. Having previously used coated strings for a period when they were introduced in the 90s, I was aware of the benefits. I was already a fan of D'Addario products, so I figured I'd give these a try and now all of my electrics use them. To me they sound like regular nickel wound strings that have been on the guitar for a week or so. Most of the factory fresh zing of a brand new nickel wound string is there, but just slightly less punchy. Considering they will retain that quality for much longer, the benefit absolutely outweighs the slightly reduced "tone loss".

Consistent and quality brand. Always my go-to and I’ve tried just about every brand and type of strings there are over the last 15+ years of playing guitar. Last a long time and the coating isn’t too thick. Just makes the strings feel fast and not slimy or like latex. These take the least amount of time to settle in and stretch as well. It’s almost like they pre stretch them haha. When these are 25% off stock up for sure.

I've tried a lot of stings. IMO, the XS strings are the best of all worlds. They are coated, which mitigates string squeaks. Yet the coating is so light it does not slow you down. They hold tune very well . They last a good while even with daily play. They bend reasonably well, although some uncoated strings will bend just slightly easier. These have become my go-to string for all my electric guitars.

I just put these on a few days ago and I'm really happy with them. They feel smoother than normal strings. Not phenomenally smoother by any means, just smoother. I can tell there is less friction when I'm sliding up and down frets. The strings are very shiny. I also noticed there is less lingering vibration in the string when im playing with some distortion. For example if im just plucking a single string, and then want to pluck a note on a different string, theres usually some remaining ringing from the first string that interferes with the second note. Usually I would palm mute between each string, but with these new strings, thats not as much of an issue. Its not perfect, but it is better. The notes sound much clearer. To me, thats a big win and it definitely sold me on these. In terms of longevity, I'll have to wait and see.

Bought these strings for my musician Granddaughter. She liked them a lot. As for me, as former guitar player who no longer has the ability to play I just looked for a product that shouted quality.

These strings sound great, and I am surprised at how easily my fingers slide across them without making noise. It feels like they're lubricated, yet they're completely dry.

Last a long time.

Returning to guitar after years, the world had changed. Heard through the grapevine these were good strings so I got them and they are wonderful to use! Will be buying more for my other guitars.
