Q: I want something slightly shorter. Would it be possible to roll the top over approx a couple of inches so as to lift the petticoat ?

You can roll it up.. I have had to.. Very light and comfortable item

Q: What size would you recommend for a UK 16

It's very stretchy.. I'm a size 18 and ordered an 18.. Had to put a stitch in to make it smaller.. Definitely go down a size.. Also I'm 5 5 and it's down to my knees.. Get a shorter one if you want to wear an above knee dress
