Carbon fiber probe is exactly the same as any other power probe three model just painted a different color. Looks cool though so in a way yes its better (looking).

Is there a cigarette lighter plug to power the hook like there is for power probe III?

There is no cigarette lighter adapter. The cables that hook to the battery or batteries is about 15 to 20 '. It has to have a fairly heavy cable to carry test loads. It would not work through the cigarette lighter. To lite of a circuit.
