Marabu Lovely Red Mixed Media Art Crayon Set

I purchased 4 sets so far of different colors and gave them a go! I love them! So creamy and easy to work with. I really like how the colors are true to themselves that they dont weaken when wet. I have not used them a lot but what Ive done so far is great! I definitely will be using these more often in my work.I thought it was funny that they sent one set in this huge box all by itself with a ton of packaging air pockets. A bit of a waste of a box, but I do recycle so its all good.

These are my favorite drawing/painting pens. The colors are vibrant amd the wide tip is easy to use. They blend with water and I use my finger, which makes them easy to travel with. Put a little water in a bottle cap, use your finger for blending and viola your an artist!

I wish there were more colors, love them all.

I purchased this item in "acceptable" condition, however it arrived in brand new condition minus the package. So the package had been opened and then taped back together but because this wasn't a gift I was very pleased and didn't mind since the product itself remained unused. As for the product I own Faber Castell gel sticks as well as gelatos, I also own cheaper brands like NOYO gel crayons, U.S. Art Supplies gel crayons, Xonex gel crayons, Reeves water soluble wax pastels, and crayola portfolio water soluble oil pastels so I'm familiar with a wide range of these products. The colors are vibrant and lay down smoothly, they don't leave chunks like the gelatos however if not using a gesso prepped page then they're terrible when it comes to blending or spreading with water which is why I took 1 star off. The cheap crayola portfolio oil pastels and cheaper gel crayon brands blend better on non gesso surfaces, in fact even the Reeves watercolor crayons dissolve better when water is applied then these do. If I were to compare these to another medium I'd say they're a lot like distress crayons, so for some people this may be a more budget friendly option to distress crayons since they can be pricey. I think for the price of only 4 that gelatos are a better buy for those like myself wanting water soluble on both gesso and plain paper, plus gelatos offer a wider selection of colors for only a few bucks more. They're still an awesome medium and for the reduced price of only $4 I'm happy, however the other color packs I had in my cart that I was going to buy at the regular price I deleted after playing with these.

If you want a water soluble creamy crayon, this is it. I use my hands to blend it, hands down a great product in great colours.
