I had damaged hair so couldn't dye it again so was looking for a solution. This improved my dry hair greatly and the color turned out beautifully. I mixed it the night before and let it develop at room temperature for 10 hours. After application (very messy) I left it on for 90 minutes then rinsed out. Smells grassy but once dry I didn't notice any awful after-smell. I only used one packet on my medium-dark brown, shoulder length curls. Only one set of gloves and cap in box; I tossed mine afterwards so will need a trip to Sally's for better gloves and cap for next time. I mixed the product in a ceramic bowl (would probably stain plastic) and used a special hair dye brush from Sally's to apply the product (which may account for reasonable coverage from one packet.)
