I have bought several of these and they fit tight and work perfectly. It Is important to note though to ALWAYS clean the bungs, as they might have a residue on them. Make sure to wipe the mouth of the fermentor dry as well as the stopper. If it's Wet it is likely to slide back out. If it's dried clean first works every time.

The airlocks themselves are great. I’d give them 5 stars for sure. The grommets are great too, I’d give them 5 stars as well. But those rubber stoppers/bungs are TERRIBLE! The type of cheap, synthetic, rubber-like material they’re made from is just awful. It has a very slick, shiny surface, so the stoppers won’t stay put when you use them in a carboy, they just slide right back out. The CO2 pressure, combined with the slick, shiny surface and the overly acute angle in the shape of the stoppers makes them pop out after you push them in. The material might’ve worked if the cone-like shape had less of an acute angle. And that angle might’ve worked if they used a better material, but both flaws together make these stoppers almost useless. The only way to use them is to hold them in place with an elastic band. That shouldn’t be necessary. I have dozens of other rubber stoppers that don’t need any help to stay in place.I even experimented with roughing up the surface on one of the stoppers using sandpaper. That helped, but I ended up using an elastic band anyway, because it still popped out, it just took a bit longer.So for me, the airlocks and the grommets get 5 stars, but the stoppers get 2 stars…and they’re lucky to get that. It’s like the company didn’t bother testing the material before they went ahead with it. Either that or they DID test it, recognized the problem with it, but went ahead with it anyway because it was cheaper. Either way, it’s a bad look for the company and these stoppers are almost useless. Thankfully, I have a substantial collection of stoppers in more than a few sizes, so it’s not a huge problem for me. I really just ordered them for the airlocks and grommets anyway. But if you’re just getting started in homebrewing and don’t have a bunch of extra stoppers, I’d steer clear of this set… unless you’re cool with holding your stoppers in place with elastic bands.

These worked out perfectly when we modified the 5 gallon buckets to make our homemade sauerkraut.
