If so, does white show or is the dark color solid throughout?** A: The dark is not solid all the way through but I have had these dishes for years and they do not chip easily. However, they are not the "dark gray" color as shown in the photo. In reality, they are several shades lighter. I'm a little disappointed because I wanted the dark gray set. If I had known they would have been as light as they ACTUALLY are, I would have just purchased black dishes. Several of the dishes have blemishes and bubbles in the glaze, but most of them are on the bottom of the dishes, so I can deal with those, I guess. These aren't exactly fine china, so imperfections aren't as big of a deal.
