Kobo Aura - eBook reader - 4 GB - 6"(N236-KU-BK-K-EP)

Pretty awesome little ebook reader. I have a Sony one that I've used for over a decade now but sadly the case was falling apart and it had to be replaced, I could not find a replacement case.The size is great it's really easy to hold in your hand. The built in backlight is amazing. Controlling the light can be a little annoying, it basically pops down a slider to adjust the brightness, but interacting the slider is a little unruly.Be careful to buy the correct case, I bought one for an older version and it blocked the power button on the back. The official case was $40 which I think is a little on the expensive side but it does fit perfectly and wakes/sleeps the device when opening and closing which is really nice.

This is the third eReader I've ordered actually. The first was a Kobo Touch, which sadly suffered from a broken screen due to 'bad handling' on my account. The second was a Kobo Aura h2o as a replacement, and this one is my third Kobo eReader to be used by my wife. Excellent products. Great quality screen, good build quality. Recommended.

The main reason to buy the Kobo Aura is its versatility, since it functions w/both .epub and .mobi file formats (for some reason Amazon still refuses to incorporate .epub support for Kindle). Unfortunately, it is definitely slower than Kindle paperwhite, and the screen isn't as responsive (swiping down ends up as a click in 1/2 of the time). In addition, shopping for books is harder as the Kobo store pretty much sucks. If you're okay with these 2 shortcomings, this is the basic e-reader to get if you already have dozens of .epubs you can't read on your Kindle. (I say this having owned a Nook glowlight which was cheaply made and had a terrible UI).

For Russian readers I would definitely advise it, Cyrillic letters are supported very well, though the language of system is not having Russian on its list. But as far as I can read Russian books clearly, that makes me more than happy.Besides, I am in love with its design, the reader is very thin, light, even though the size of the screen was not as I expected, however, it didn't disappoint me at all. Very fast working, easy in use. Everything delivered in a good condition (both reader and cable).

This e-reader is in my opinion the best on the market. The size is perfect, screen amazing and battery life is awesome. The backlight on this does not cause any eye-strain and is so easy to adjust. There is no glare (like on a tablet or phone) so reading in the daytime outside is not an issue. I an a non-conformist reader and love how Kobo doesn't regulate what is put on your device. If you can download it onto your laptop- you can load it on this reader.

Reading books on the Kobo Aura is difficult. The page rendering is is slow, and when scrolling down to read the lower half of the page, the device will zoom out randomly and move a few pages ahead or backward. Don't waste your money on this ereader!

I love the Kobo Aura so much I bought this to replace an older unit that was having issues. The small defect with this Aura is the bottom lights shine up through a small gap and four cast shadows along the bottom of the screen. It nearly drove me crazy at first but now it's just a minor inconvenience. It's a quality issue, this unit should not have been sold in the condition it is. I will keep it as I read everyday and can't be without it. I will however consider a different brand when replacing this unit. Thanks

Best ereader I've ever seen or owned. Backlit screen is perfect in the dark and the eink screen is perfectly visible in light as well. Can load ePubs directly via Windows file explorer. Highly recommend this reader.

Per chi, come me, ama i libri di carta e le librerie in cui riporli, questo e-reader è stato una piacevolissima scoperta.Lo ha voluto mia figlia per la sua promozione in terza elementare.Mi ci sono avvicinato con interesse, prima per fare un buon acquisto, poi per provarlo; sono stato colpito dalla qualità dei materiali, dall'ergonomica, dal rapporto qualità/prezzo, dalla vasta scelta dei titoli, dalla semplicità di accesso ad essi e dallo stile e dall'intuitivitá dell'interfaccia grafica.Semplice, leggero, compatto, portatile, elegante, personalizzabile, ci ha permesso di portare ovunque, nello spazio di un taccuino, più libri di quanti sarebbe stato possibile in qualsiasi formato cartaceo, senza far percepire la dipendenza da una batteria (guinzaglio per gli uomini nell'era degli smartphone) di lunga durata, grazie alla tecnologia del suo schermo.Grazie a quest'ultimo, leggibilissimo al buio come al sole: come fosse carta... forse meglio.Infine, ciò che ti consente di fare un e-reader non lo può concedere un libro "classico": dizionario integrato, annotazioni a scomparsa (correggibili o eliminabili a posteriori), evidenziazioni, hyperlink a contenuti meta testuali, segnalibro automatico, formattazione dei caratteri e personalizzazione dell'immaginazione, etc etc etcInsomma, due modi assolutamente diversi e reciprocamente insostituibili di leggere gli stessi libri.Un'esperienza da provare per chi ama leggere ovunque ma anche per chi ama i libri di carta... per ciò che sono. 😅

I purchased Kobo aura edition 2 in order to borrow books from an online library and it works perfectly.The backlight is very good; its speed also. I love it.

Toute la famille est équipée d'une liseuse Kobo, idéale pour les déplacements, voyages, vacances, rdv (pour patienter en salle d'attente !), romans étudiés en classe...Nous avons choisi Kobo pour la qualité et le confort de lecture, les écrans sont vraiment très agréables et le rétroéclairage indispensable pour lire en toutes circonstances. Nous apprécions également le choix de Kobo pour un format numérique libre (ePub). La plupart des eBooks du marché sont au format ePub, format ouvert et standard pour les livres numériques. Il existe de plus en plus de librairies en ligne pour ceux qui souhaitent sortir des grands monopoles. De nombreux ouvrages sont gratuits (ceux qui appartiennent désormais au domaine public), pratique pour l'étude de certains romans en classe.Gros lecteurs, nous adorons les livres version papier et continuons d'acheter certains ouvrages que nous souhaitons conserver dans notre bibliothèque, mais au quotidien, la liseuse est très pratique, nous avons près de mille ouvrages et sommes loin de saturer les mémoires des liseuses. Petites et légères, elles se glissent dans un sac, un cartable, voire dans une poche. Ce ne sont pas des objets trop fragiles et bien que gros lecteurs nous ne les rechargeons pas très souvent, environ tous les mois et demi quand le pourcentage de charge atteint les 30%.N'oubliez pas qu'une liseuse est également très pratique pour les personnes ayant des problèmes de vue. Vous pouvez calibrer la police d'écriture, la taille des caractères, l'interligne, les marges, etc. Cela permet de lire un livre écrit gros sans pour autant avoir l'impression de s'entrainer à la musculation chaque fois qu'on prend l'ouvrage en main : la liseuse est toujours aussi légère.De plus Kobo est une marque fiable qui propose des appareils très faciles et rapides à paramétrer et utiliser. Les enfants ont eu leur liseuse à l'âge de 8/10 ans et ont immédiatement compris le fonctionnement très intuitif de ce nouveau livre.

Tras mucho mirar me decidí por el aura 2 por el precio aún pensando que podría ser demasiado pequeño y lo es, sin embargo puedes ajustar las tipografía como quieras haciendo que la lectura sea comodisima por lo que el pequeño tamaño es una ventaja a la hora de llevarlo o sostenerlo en la mano.He probado los formatos epub, kepub y crb y los lee correctamente, algunos kepub convertidos con el calibre han dado error y el dispositivo de ha reiniciado al abrirlos, pero al meterlos en formato epub sin convertir los abre perfectamente y la transición entre paginas es rápida en todos estos formatos.La pantalla se hace pequeña para leer manga y al leer muy de cerca se ve que no tiene tanta resolución como otros, aún así no es algo que eche en falta puesto que su cometido lo cumple a la perfección.Es un poco engorroso tener que conectarte a Internet la primera vez que lo enciendes, si no tienes esa posibilidad no arranca, aunque después de la primera configuración puedes prescindir de conectarlo.La iluminación es genial, deslizando el dedo hacia arriba y abajo en el margen izquierdo de la pantalla puedes regularla incluso apagarla del todo.En conclusión es muy buen producto
