I'm not thebiggestfanof ordering flat pack furniture, especially online. It's difficult to returning there's something wrong. But this is the third piece of furniture I have had to assemble in as many weeks and I have to say things have improved. The quality of this is absolutely solid. It is very heavy. So even though they supply fittings for a partition wall,I wouldn't have the courage to use them. The load baring screws are 10cm deep. They kindly supply an appropriate drill bit which meant we didn't have to dash out to dash out and buy one. The instructions are very clear. I still made a couple of errors in building and then wondered why I couldn't get the desk folding brackets to fit thepredrillholes at the end. It was a very simple fix because it's mostly put together with cam locks. I had only put one piece upside down, as sooner was corrected it fitted fine. It's easy to make mistakes like this. It also takes time to build, and two people to get it on the wall to hold it and make sure it's level.The desk isn't as strong as I would like. I wouldn't but a 3kg weight on it like they doing the video. They are small screws in MDF. The hinges nd fittings here I think could be better quality. I'd rather pay more for stronger desk.We have fitted a magnetic lock on ours to prevent unnecessary tampering from little fingers which works really well.This desk overall gets give stars because its little faults are little and what you get is a very strong, pretty funky piece of furniture that's very practical. My daughter has a tiny bedroom, but by utilising furniture like this and installing a narrow single bed, she now has everything she needs for her teen years and has actually ended up with more space than she did when she had a cabin bed. Really pleased.

Fantastic unit exactly what I wanted

If you have previous experience with flat packed furniture, you will know what to expect from this wall mounted shelf unit, but for those who are new to this type of self-assembly item, take a bit of time to familiarise yourself with all of the components before actually putting them together (it will save a headache later). Once assembled and wall mounted, this is quite a sturdy item, there's a reasonable amount of compartmented shelf space for whatever you choose to store within them, and of course, the drop-down main shelf becomes a space saving and convenient platform for a variety of uses.One thing to be aware of before fitting the unit to a wall, is to take note of the height that you require the main shelf to be when it has been dropped down, because that shelf will effectively become your desktop, and if you want to be seated when using it, you will obviously need it to be at a comfortable height.The overall quality of the unit appears to be really good, we chose the dark grey colour scheme (the other choice being white), the wooden boards used for manufacture have a polished marble effect veneer, which actually looks very impressive, even up close. However, if you are considering a purchase, bear in mind that the hinges used for the drop-down shelf will be the weak points of the unit, and even though they are perfectly suitable for everyday use, they are not designed to hold a great deal of weight.As for the price, £239.00 at the time of ordering was expensive for a relatively compact unit, and although now reduced to £219.00 it still seems a little high, but sometimes it can be worthwhile paying that little bit extra for what can essentially become a very useful space saving piece of furniture.
