How long do they take to germinate(sprout)? How tall will they grow?

Under ideal conditions you can see sprouts in 5-10 days after planting. It can reach 15-25 feet tall.

What zones are best for growing? I live in new Jersey

You would not be able to grow outside. Cocao requires tropical locations but can be grown inside with proper lighting in a large planter once established.

What type of pod are the seeds from: Criollo, Trinitario or Forastero?

These seeds are from the Trinitario variety.

I'm co fused with this post. Is this a bonsai tree or cocoa?

These are seeds to grow your own cacao tree. It is not a bonsai tree, these trees should grow 4 foot in the first year. Although, I did not have any luck with my seeds. I hope this helps. Bonnie

Description

Fresh Wet Cacao Seeds: Start Theobroma cacao from moisture-sensitive planting seeds. These fresh seeds require prompt attention upon arrival and are intended for propagation, offering a hands-on introduction to the tropical tree associated with chocolate production.
Sow Promptly After Arrival: Keep seeds moist until planting and avoid drying or refrigeration. Sow flat in a freely draining growing mix, maintain steady moisture, and protect the planting area from cold temperatures and drying air.
Warm Humid Growing Conditions: Provide a sheltered location with tropical warmth, humidity, and bright filtered light. Keep the root zone consistently moist while allowing excess water to drain, and protect young plants from harsh exposure.
Tropical Container Tree: Grow cacao in a container with drainage and room for developing roots. Broad leaves and bronze-toned new growth provide foliage interest, while ongoing care and pruning help manage a tree that naturally increases in size.
Understand Flowers And Pods: Mature cacao trees produce small flowers on their trunks and older branches. Pod development depends on growing conditions and successful pollination, sometimes requiring compatible plants; harvested cacao seeds undergo further processing for chocolate production.
