Easy to hold. Configuration of the bottom locks it the edge of the counter or table. 2 swipes of the course brought my blade back sharp. Rotating ceramic rollers cleaned the edge nicely. May be not great for a super expensive set of knives. It is aggressive, but works well on any normal kitchen knife.

I have several Work Sharp products, all of which are excellent. This little item is probably the best version of this style of quickie sharpener I've ever had, but that being said, for quick touch-ups I prefer their small electric counter-top model. It's important to know that no sharpener of this ilk can make a dull knife sharp, it's only for keeping it sharp between legit sharpenings. If you cook a lot and enjoy using razor-sharp implements, it's worth reading up and learning how to do it right.

I have a collection of high-end quality and workplace knives. I've tried a number of kitchen level sharpeners, both manual and electric. Some did a decent job on my softer steel working knives, but none could tackle the occasional sharpening my Wustoff, Global, etc. knives needed. I saw the reviews of Work Sharp products, and decided to try this Kitchen Edge Sharpener. Bingo! Not only is it easy and effective on Victorianox knives, but it put a good edge on the harder German steel. It's not as good as a sharpening stone can do, but I suck at consistency with a sharpening stone. It's also very easy and effective at regular honing. I highly recommend this, extremely bargain priced, quality product.

Great for quick maintenance. Not as good as a whet stone, but sharpens enough to slice tomatoes in less than a minute.

Work sharp has great products

I have the ken onion work sharp so I thought I'd give this a try for kitchen knives....it's ok but not great
