Q: I am making a wedding cake appearing as steps. Can you use this and move them?

yes, you could move them around... in fact they sell the steps too. Also, I put flowers inside and lights around it....They only thing is that it needs to be reclined again a wall or you tape the bases. The plastic is too fragile and collapse easily but if you secure the base with tape it works.

Q: Can these be stacked to make a stacked multi tiered cake?

If you do that you have to make sure that you have something to weight it down. It not that heavy to have a lot of weigh on it.

Q: How thick are each of the plates?

The thickness is approximately 2.5 mm

Q: What are the sizes of plates for cake?

6,8,10,12 inch plates. You need to get boards that size or bigger (an inch or two) for cakes to set on before placing them on the stands. My cake sizes were 5,7,9,&11.
