Astro Pneumatic Tool 1717A Deluxe 4" Air Blow Gun with 1/2" Removable Tip, Green

2 Year Update: This blow gun has been used and abused for the last 2 years and is still going strong. About the only things that go wrong with it are: 1. The aluminum tip on the end of it sometimes loosens up. 2. The rubber piece on the tip will occasionally blow off the end of the hose. You can fix #1 by occasionally tightening the aluminum tip. You could also use Loctite on it but I didn't because I need to remove it when I don't want the rubber tip on it (like if I need to get into a really tight area). You can fix #2 by using super glue to bond the rubber tip back onto the aluminum. After chasing the rubber tip across the shop for about the fifth time, that's exactly what I did. I used high-strength black (rubber-filled) cyanoacrylate glue to do this after cleaning everything thoroughly and so far it has held up. I like this nozzle so much that I bought another one to keep on my tool cart. This is better by far than the typical metal-body air nozzles that you get at most of the tool stores. Original review: I bought this to replace a no-name blow gun that I'd gotten at a garage sale years ago. The no-name worked fine but the plastic body was slowly disintegrating. It had begun to slowly leak air and I was afraid that one day it would simply blow apart. For less than $10, I bought this. I've used Astro tools before and have been pleasantly surprised at the balance between cost and performance. The advantage of this type of air nozzle is that the long trigger makes it easy to throttle the airflow, from a trickle to a full blast and anything in between. I also like having the screw-on rubber tip, which is very secure and which was missing from my old nozzle. I used this all weekend while doing projects in the garage. It worked exactly as expected, and it feels more solid than a typical no-name blow gun. Plus, it doesn't leak-- I can leave it plugged into my air hose without hearing the compressor cycle back on every hour or two. For less than $10 at the time I purchased it, this is a good deal.

Old blow gun broke so I gave this one a shot. Lasted about two years before I knocked the rubber tip off which was my fault. Overall very worth it although it may not have the same output as some of the more expensive ones.

Purchased this blow gun months ago to replace another brand that I bought offline This Astro Pneumatic gun was still inexpensive but cost about $6 more than the one it replaces. Why is it worth the difference? 1) Rubber tip: Since I use this in and around around automobiles it helps me avoid scratching paint surfaces as well as leather and other interior materials. 2) The ergonomics are excellent. This helps all but eliminate any muscle fatigue from repeated use of this (and many other hand tools throughout my long work days). 3) Non-restricted air flow: Flows better volume of air than previous gun 4) Durability: I use this intermittently for 2-3 hour jobs during many of my work days. Never has it started to leak air, had the trigger bind, lose its trigger response, bend, crack, or break. Unfortunately I have dropped it many times yet it keeps working as if it just came out of the package. 5) Light weight: The barrel is metal, but the body and trigger are a composite/plastic sort of material and the rubber tip is large and solid. Definitely recommend

Good air gun removable rubber tip is a bit misleading I have had an old husky one with just a tube for a long time works fine, but I saw this and for 12 bucks I thought it would be nice to be able to swap tips for air testing different items. There are lots of tip sets out there with 1/8 NPT threads to swap on or off the larger air guns. This is not that type of tip. See photo above. Secondly if you do remove the tip and place it back on, it will self remove at high velocity when you least expect it. I no longer have the tip it's buried somewhere in my garage shelving from an unexpected lift off. The tip is a hard plastic material not rubber, other reviewers have said this, I thought I would solve this with a tip set, but alas it's not that easy. Astro if your reading this I would love it if you made this with 1/8 NPT threads so I could put any tips of my choosing on it. Heck you could even sell it as a bundle. I gave it four stars because it is a nice air gun with a good trigger, I just think it is silly to advertise a removable tip if you can't safely reinstall it. And plastic and rubber are not the same thing in the air gun world. One leaks air everywhere the other makes a nice seal so you can find and fix leaks. I get it there are way fancier air guns that you can swap tips to your hearts content. I thought this would be a cool tool that could blow off an air bench and also make a nice seal on the a piece of pipe.

Great quality air nozzle at a great price. I have had many of these type of air blower, but most are bad quality and leak. This one is outstanding quality. No leaks at all, even with a full tank of air. I finally had to replace my old Matco brand air blower because the plastic broke after 25 years of use. I went through 3 different brands of blowers and they all leaked. One broke on the second day of use. I then found this one and I couldn't be happier, I can leave it attached to the hose with a full tank of air (5 gallon tank with 170 psi) and come back a day or two later and still have a full tank of air. The rubber cap is excellent, seals completely. Great for cleaning carburetors and such.

Works great, love the rubber tip to blow up tires and make a sealed connection.

The blower design deserves 5 stars. Its high quality and really makes the absolute most of whatever pressure you put through it. Their is a BIG downside though. The blower nozzle that comes with it is an actual safety hazard. The rubber loosens up and comes off, which wasnt a big deal to me, but if you put it back on, It will come back off when you blow air through it, immediately. It shoots of at an insane speed because its so powerful. I had it pointed at my leg area when it happened and the rubber hit my leg, and it hurt like a paintball gun. We were shooting it across the shop at work because we were so amazed of how fast it flies.

Bought this for home use. Works well, nice action to it and no leaking air. Good quality, great price and fast delivery what more could you ask for. Thanks!

Esta pistola tiene buena finta. Pero en realidad es de baja calidad, la punta no es de goma ,es de plastico duro y se deteriora rapidamente. Su gatillo es incomodo ya con presion de aire. Para trabajos pequeños funsiona, pero para taller de transmision automaticas no la recomiendo.

These are great, the black tip screws off, if you want. I really like the brass threaded insert, shouldn't crack, when adding air line quick connect. These really blow. Shipping was fast

Does the job well, holds up to daily abuse. Trigger is nice lets you feather it if you need to.
