Older (Amazon Exclusive White Vinyl)

Older!Is it George Michaels greatest moment?As a lifelong fan it's debatable. Faith, LWP & Patience all have their merits and represent very different times in Georges Musical Legacy.I'm no audiophile, but I'm always a bit sceptical when I buy any new vinyl as it always feels like a gamble, some of my purchases have been very disappointing.With Older I'm pleased to say it sounds great, I only have a mid-spec set-up, it sounds warm and rich on every track.It's been remastered at Air Studios by John Webber (who has a great reputation) and David Austin.I'm not going to compare the Audio to the Original pressing as I have to be honest, I've never played my copy. Like most of us back the day I was playing the CD at home and the cassette in the car. I would imagine this pressing would be superior as Older comes in just shy of 59 minutes which is quite lengthy to squeeze onto a single disk.The original is now so rare I'm glad I've never played it and now so many more fans are able to enjoy it on vinyl due to this new pressing.The physical album itself oozes with quality. Part of the reason we all buy vinyl is enjoying the tactile experience. Older does not disappoint in that department a stunning gatefold containing x2 180g limited edition white disks.I do feel this release would have benefitted from an additional track being added to side D whose runtime is only 9 minutes. George was very productive with additional tracks at this point in his career. I would have liked I Can't Make you Love Me, or Fastlove Part2 added onto side D that would have made this release a bit more unique.I think any George Michael fan will be pleased with their purchase.Things it would be nice to see in any future releases, would be GM Unplugged on Vinyl a new pressing of Symphonica.A new EP of his final unreleased recordings along with that Mystery Track with Naughty Boy.5 Stars despite all the delays. I've been one of the lucky ones whose purchase escaped from the Amazon warehouse much to the anger of GM's Estate. Don't worry David (Austin) it ended up in the hands of a true fan and I don't think the Queen would have been upset.

I pre-ordered this way back in April when it was first announced. After many delays, July release put back to August, then put back again to September and then the death of QEII, I finally have this beauty in my hands. Although there were many colours to choose from (green, red, blue & standard black vinyl) I thought the white vinyl suited the the whole package. I'm so pleased to have this release from Amazon but was a little anxious as some vinyl I've ordered from Amazon arrived with damaged sleeves, but not this one, (thank heaven's) because this is now unavailable. This is how reissues should be done.

As with all anticipated vinyl releases I worry about the quality of the pressing. However here you can buy with confidence. The sound is bold and detailed. Well done Sony. The gatefold is ok, a bit basic but the pictures are of good quality. Five stars.

A timeless classic album containing some of the most classic songs of contemporary music history.Reissued in a beautiful package in classy white vinyl. Great pressing, sounds unbelievably good.The opening notes of Jesus To A Child are so emotive. Incredible song.Incredible album.

One of George' finest Albums. The Gatefold Sleeve is beautifully produced and the Sound Quality superb. Love the White Vinyl. Worth the delays in production. Love it ❤❤❤❤❤

This is a fantastic piece of work from George Michael, maybe his best.Well worth the wait, so turn it up and enjoy!

So happy to own this now on vinyl and it’s beautifully presented. It sounds absolutely glorious. George’s finest work in my opinion.

Nevertheless this album is amazing. Absolutely my favourite. I was waiting such a long time for this release, however I’m a bit disappointed with the overall sound quality. George’s vocals sounds too “flat”. Despite few darker marks on the white vinyl the pressing seems to be well done. No cracks or pops and the album is still very enjoyable despite the audio quality issue.
