Inspiring Makeup for Women over 40
Beauty 40+ shows that with the right skin care and makeup women can look great at any age. Boris Entrup demonstrates how to achieve 24 different looks on 13 models (mainly Caucasian) with different hair colors, including gray. Being in my late 40s, I have found at least 10 makeup looks I like and that I am able to apply on my face. This gives me something to play with, instead of using the same makeup every day. Throughout the book there are detailed tips on makeup application for women over 40, as well as tips on skin care, beautiful hands and hair. The women portrayed in this book all look gorgeous. Especially when I saw the photographs of Eveline Hall, I immediately thought that I should try to emulate the way she looks when I get 70. It is hard to put into words, but she looks so natural and with the beautiful sparkle in her eyes you can see she is young at heart. Her makeup seems to enhance her personality just right. Barbara Lutz, age 63, stands out to me because her skin looks so dewy and fresh. The other models are inspiring, too. I am sure I will come back to this book many times.

Very helpful guide to some very wearable looks.
I love this book if for no other reason than it has mature women models (alas with fabulous bone structure which I do not possess) and a range of makeup styles that I found interesting and useful. So many makeup books feature only young models, which are still valuable as guidelines or for ideas. But to have some fun and dramatic looks on older women was inspirational. Yes, we "ladies of a certain age" can wear shimmery eyeshadow and bright red lipstick, according to this makeup artist. And why not? It's only makeup and this book provides some tips on how to use it to achieve the affect you want. There are also sections on skin care and hair that I found helpful as well.

Classic makeup guide to look pretty
Replete with color photographs and step-by-step guidance, this book tells you not only HOW to do it, but why and when to do it. Why does this color gloss work better for evening than the work day? Why choose this type of skin mask over that type? What types of clinical interventions are there, what do they do, and are people glad they did them? How to camouflage aging with color. Fitness and relaxation techniques.

Not good.
Very disappointed! The make up styles were old fashioned and unflattering.
