SmallRig Microphone Shock Mount Cold Shoe Pinch for Camera Shoe Boompole

I’m pleasantly surprised with the SmallRig 1859 Pencil Condenser Microphone Shock Mount for the low price point. Right out of the box, it feels premium and the construction quality seems miles ahead of the smaller, cheaper third-party alternatives I’ve used in the past. The materials are solid, well-machined, and built to last. Surprisingly it comes with an extra set of rubber shock bands, something most brands don’t include. SmallRig also includes a 5/8" to 3/8" adapter, which fits perfectly into a camera hot or cold shoe, making it adaptable for a ton of setups. This mount firmly holds pencil condenser mics between 15–25mm in diameter in place with a vice like grip. Once positioned, it stays put without any slipping or sagging; even at angles where other mounts tend to give up. Performance-wise, it’s excellent. Mic handling noise is nearly eliminated; the only time I heard anything was when I accidentally dropped the mic on a desk, and even then it wasn’t bad. For normal handling, adjustments, or movement, it keeps things wonderfully quiet. It’s also extremely versatile: great for on-camera use, mic stands, or boom arms. And when it goes on sale, it’s a crazy good deal considering how much better the build quality is compared to budget brands. If you need a dependable, well-designed shock mount for your pencil condenser mics, this is absolutely one to consider! Highly recommended!

Works great with my shotgun mic and I don't have to worry about squeezing the mic through the original holder.

Based on Price functionality ratio. Great product. Fits different size of microphones. Not great for very frequent use (i assume) but for me works great using it here and there to set up my microphones arrays. Purchases 4 if these for small condenser microphones.

This is a great shock mount. I've been a fan of Small Rig stuff for a while now. The size is nice, it's not too big, and it does a good job of isolating my mics so I'm not picking up surface vibrations and other reverb from the environment. I like the design, it fits my boom arm like it was made for it, and the mic just slides right in and it holds it really well so I have 0 complaints, this mount is great for mics that will fit.

Had an audio friend recommend these to me. I always take his advice because he’s been in the business longer than I have. I use these with a pair of Lewitt LC-040 condenser microphones. They fit perfectly and do the job, and that’s what is important to me. Great hold, inexpensive, and good build quality.

I bought this to replace the terrible mount that came with my movo shotgun mic. This thing is huge, but an absolute beast. Very sturdy and holds the camera well. The wind reducer can not go all the way on the mic because the mount takes up most of the space, but the wind reducer has elastic bands in it so it stays on fine. I mean I swung and flung this thing like nobodies business, the wind reducer stayed on and the mic stayed in the mount. As a vlogger I'll never actually need that kind of sturdiness, but it's good to know this goes above and beyond.

I received an e-mail asking for an evaluation. The main thing about it really is "longevity" and only having used it twice since I bought it this is something I can't yet evaluate. I bought it as a replacement for an all metal shock mount that got bent and the rubber bands have worn. Nowadays those metal mounts cost nearly $50 and I don't see a reason why. So I opted for this mount. It's all plastic and the rubber bands are very thin. It did come with a set of spare rubber bands which is a good thing. It's lighter than the metal mount and maybe it's overall better but I don't know yet. The mic sits securely in the mount and it's cheap enough to give it a try.

Consistent with my experience with the multitude of Smallrig products that I own. Well made, inexpensive and gets the job done as specified with no hassle. I use this with a RODE professional shotgun microphone and it is superb. No noise and no wobble.
