Power wise it's pretty decent and is phenomenal in ground work where you'll do a cut, then position awhile and so on. I'll fire up the Sthil about 10 times over a day, but use the DeWalt well over 100 individual cuts. I would equate the ease of use to to why golf carts are preferred over stick shifts in a lot of places, this is just fun. Great tool for what it is and invaluable for anyone, be they weekend warrior or home steader. For those of us not up to Wranglestar status this is a great back up for the gas powdered and can charge batteries off a solar panel. If you're clearing debris or heating your home this is a great tool and piece of mind. It is pretty liberal with the bar oil discharge, I'd recommend storing with that in mind.
