Needed to replace an adapter for my planer and wanted to go with OEM parts for the use of after-market products that assume you're using it. Snapped right into place on my outfeed and works just like it's original. No fussing around with clearance or other issues you'd normally get with alternatives. Can't really complain about the pricing since it's an OEM part and the alternatives are cheaper, but you can usually tell why.

I've owned a DeWalt 735 planer for about 10 years, and had bought the accessory hose and drum cover to allow collecting the chips in a 55 gallon drum, but this accessory hose is beginning to fail and a replacement is no longer available. It's nice to see that DeWalt has provided an alternative, a hose adapter that fits on the 735 chip exhaust port properly. I just wish they had also included the necessary elbow in the design to keep the hose off the wood as it exits the planer. I'm hoping that I can find a plumbing elbow that fits this.

Overall the product serves the job. I think it is a little pricey for what it is but your pretty stuck if you want to use a dust vac on it as I could not find other adapters to fit properly on the planer. You can use this on a standard 4" dust line for your dust vac as there is an outer ring to accommodate this and there is a inner one to accommodate a smaller hose. The smaller size is too large for my two different sized shop vac hoses but will work on a 2.5" (inner dimension) hose. The inner ring (outer dimension) is pretty close to 2 7/16 for those who are wondering if your shop vac hose will work on it. I did not use calipers only a straight edge on this so don't quote me on the "exact" outer diameter of the inner ring that receives the vac hose. When hooking up my 4" line it does a great job at removing the chips and dust.

The problem was probably my fault. The adapter can’t hold the bag of sawdust as it fills and breaks the adapter connection. Bag must be supported when in use then I believe the adapter will last. However, that said, I would be willing to pay for a metal adapter should DeWalt offer one.

Perfect fit as I expected

I broke the one that was on my planer by letting the dust collector hose hang from that adapter. Now I use bungee cords to support the adapter so it won’t break again. Lesson learned.

It’s original manufacturer product so it fits.. Very expensieve for a piece of plastic that breaks/ shears so easily. Reinforce or redesign please Dewalt..
