Cocamidopropyl Betaine Liquid - 500g

- This is essentially a surfactant and a foaming agent. I got it because I react badly to most commercially-made liquid shampoos and "body washes", and after doing some research, gave this a whirl because it's an effective but gentle cleanser. I haven't seen it in dry form, so I ordered this liquid from Mystic Moments because I had ordered from them in the past and was very happy with the product and the pricing. They're located in Great Britain, so it takes a few days for things to arrive, but my orders, including this one, are securely packaged and arrive in perfect condition.- This is concentrated, so it's best to dilute it, not only for the sake of economy but also because it actually works better that way. It washes well and rinses clean. It's a standard ingredient in all sorts of liquid washes.

I used this in a cleansing conditioner I was making. I previously made my conditioner without any cleansing substances, and though I’d try this as it’s very mild and doesn’t foam much. It worked perfectly! I used a small amount (6% of the total of the batch) so I didn’t end up with any suds, but my conditioner is improved now, even if it’s only psychologically (my brain thinks “There’s a cleansing substance in here, therefore my hair must be clean!).I’m currently working on a gentle facial cleanser, and this will be the centerpiece of the formula. My hopes are high that this’ll do the job. When I finish this bottle, I’ll re-order.

I make my own home made cosmetics and body care products. Right now I am working on shampoo and facial cleaner recipes. Betaine is a relatively mild surfactant that I have successfully used in the past in surfactant blends in shampoo and also in body and face wash recipes. This is the second product I have bought from the same supplier and I am happy with my purchase.

It took about a month to get here (shipped from Germany to the U.S.) and I was mentally prepared to receive a partially (or fully) crushed and leaking bottle. However, to my surprise and relief, it arrived unopened and fully intact. The bottle seems sturdier than the average.I expected the cocamidopropyl betaine to have a slightly yellow tint but the color of the one I received is clear. Regardless of the color, the quality is excellent.I gave this 4 stars because it's significantly more expensive than other sellers even when taking into account that other sellers are charging shipping for Prime members.

It sure is soapy! Heard it though the vine that this stuff makes your bathbombs float along with slsa. I can confirm. Also works well alone.

Great condition

Good amount for the cost.

Loved it! GLAD it didn't have that strong smell like brands from other companies. Didn't need to use a lot. Loved the color and no odor. Ordering more.

Ok

Very nice, used it to make cream!

If you have spent years battling a tight, angry, and itchy scalp, please don't give up hope. 🙏🏻 For a long time, I felt completely defeated by my hair care options. Even "super gentle" commercial shampoos failed me, and I found myself reacting poorly to mild surfactants like Coco Glucoside. I eventually tried traditional "natural" handmade soaps, only to find my skin felt rawer and more irritated than ever. If this sounds like your journey, don't despair!🧪💡 The scientific "aha!" moment for me was realising that most natural soaps have a high pH of around 10, while our skin and scalp thrive at a much more acidic pH of 4.5–5.5. That massive gap is the reason natural soaps can cause so much irritation. Switching to a DIY, pH-balanced routine using Mystic Moments Cocamidopropyl Betaine (CAPB) has turned things around.✨ Here is why this ingredient transformed my routine🫧 I incorporate this CAPB at 5% into a solid shampoo bar alongside SCI (Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate). It acts as a soothing co-surfactant that boosts the lather into a rich, creamy cloud of foam while making the entire formula significantly gentler.Freedom from the Greasy CycleFinding the right surfactant blend for me has been liberating. I used to struggle with greasy hair just one day after washing because my scalp was overcompensating for being stripped and irritated. Now, I can comfortably go 5 days between washes while my hair remains fresh and my scalp stays calm. ☯️Perfectly Solid BarsA common worry with liquid additives is "mushy" soap. I’ve found that at the 5% mark, my solid bars stay perfectly firm, holding their shape beautifully in the shower.💦 True Hydration & ReliefFor the first time in years, my scalp feels hydrated and comfortable. It is incredibly empowering to wash my hair without dreading the post-shower itch or the redness that used to follow.⚖️💷 Value & Price PointI find the price on Amazon to be exceptionally fair, especially considering the cosmetic-grade quality and the convenience of delivery. Since I only use it at 5% concentration, a single bottle lasts for dozens of bars and It’s an investment that pays for itself quickly when you compare it to the cost of high-end "sensitive" shampoos that often don't even work!My Advice for Others StrugglingIf you are tired of the "trial and error" with shop-bought products, start your own journey! My top tip is to find simple recipes online from experienced formulators who really know their chemistry. Start by buying small quantities of ingredients like this CAPB to experiment with. Long-term, you are likely to save a significant amount of money and, more importantly, improve your skin and scalp health - just as I did!🏆 Final VerdictFinding a custom surfactant blend that suited me was the key to reclaiming my skin health. This Mystic Moments CAPB is a high-quality, reliable, and naturally derived and environmentally friendly surfactant. If you're looking for a soothing breakthrough, this might be it! ❤️
