I've now been using this pot for a few months so am giving my honest review. I bought this as an alternative to the expensive Lechuza pots for my large variegated monstera but I am struggling with the water levels. The water metre is badly constructed so it often gets stuck and never rises properly when I add water. I've flooded my carpet 3 times due to the faulty water metre and the water just pours out the side of the pot as I've added too much without realising. It's impossible to easily check the water levels or remove excess water as there's no way to easily take the pot off the resevoir. My beautiful monstera is going brown from oedema so I'll be moving it back to a Lechuza pot where I've never had issues. I really wanted this to be a good alternative as I generally really like the Elho brand and have other Elho products but this one is unfortunately not a great Elho product.

I’ve used a very similar design of a set-watering planter in the past and I’m a fan. It allows plants to be watered relatively infrequently but then draw on a reserve of water at the base of the pot. This is not in direct contract with the split so prevents the plant from dying because of overwatering. Apart Ely Th’s is the most common cause of plant deaths inside at least.It’s very easy to fill the water system from a green funnel from the tap and there’s a clear indicator so should how much water repealing in the reservoir in the base. An added bonus is that wheels are built into the base.No real downsides. A five-star product.

This has been hard to review as all the parts were not sent. The fill tube and indicator parts were missing so unable to use the self watering aspect now making it a very expensive standard pot. Starting at £40 for the 30 cm pot these are not cheap anyway. They are decent quality and if you receive all the parts the self watering aspect is good. It’s easy to move around with the wheels but I’d rather buy a pot for under £10 and water it myself. I think over time the roots will grow into the reservoir potentially causing roots to rot.

Leider hatte der Topf einen Riss bei den Rollen, das habe ich erst nach 3 Monaten bemerkt da zum Einwachsen der Pflanze von Oben gegossen wurde. Dann das Wasserreservoir gefüllt und alles ist ausgeronnen. Umtausch über Amazon nicht mehr möglich, daher Mail an Elho, problemloser Umtausch mit perfektem Kundenservice!

Ich habe schon drei von diesen Töpfen und das Prinzip ist genial. Großer Wassertank im Sockel versorgt die Pflanzen bis zu 14 Tage mit Wasser. Es sei denn, er ist kaputt. So auch an dem bestellten Topf. Der Topf hat Rollen eingelassen und an allen drei Rollen ist das Plastik gerissen. Ergo: das Wasser was eigentlich im Reservoir landen soll, läuft einfach aus und über die Terasse. Das nächste Mal kaufe ich wieder im Laden.
