Lasts for a long time
I bought this product for my Russian tortoise and it wasn’t his favorite but I’m giving this product a 5-star rating because I was surprised how long it lasted. If your reptile doesn’t find it appealing, I highly recommend placing something on it that they like, ex. Tomato’s, collard, etc.

My tortoise was ignoring this block, but every time ...
My tortoise was ignoring this block, but every time he goes outside, he eats every little rock in sight. So I started chopping the block with a butcher knife, into little bits. Each time we go outside, I clear any rocks out of the area and I sprinkle the bits around on the ground and he goes crazy and eats them all, he loves this stuff. I just wish he would eat it, in his pen. Maybe if your tortoise isn't eating it, you can try what I do:)

Maybe yours will like it, mine didn’t.
My salcata won’t even look twice at it. After 2 weeks in to terrarium, he didn’t even take a nibble. I then tried chopping it into smaller pieces and he pushes it aside to get to his food. He’s not a fan so only 3 stars because it may just be his taste.

For Desert Tortoise
Haven’t seen my tortoise use it yet. But I did put it in his burrow. It smells good.

A Disappointing Product
**1 out of 5 stars - Zoo Med Tortoise Banquet Block: A Disappointing Miss** As a loyal Zoo Med customer, I was excited to try the Tortoise Banquet Block, hoping to add some variety to my tortoises' diet. Unfortunately, this product turned out to be a major disappointment. None of my tortoises, despite their diverse preferences, showed any interest in this block. I tried placing the block in different areas of their enclosure, hoping to entice them, but to no avail. They simply ignored it, leaving me with a useless brick. I'm baffled by this product's lack of appeal, as Zoo Med is usually known for producing high-quality reptile products. I'm not sure if it's the block's composition or its presentation, but it's clearly not appetizing to my tortoises. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Save your money and find a more appealing option for your tortoises. **Overall rating:** 1 out of 5 stars

Nutritious...but not needed
The ingredients of this block sound very good, which is why I've given it 5stars. My tortoise has never taken any interest in the block. However, the reason that I believe this block is not needed is because your tortoise should already be getting a varied diet and not need to rely on commercial food like this. A good selection of different weeds, flowers, and sometimes store bought greens is all that a tortoise will ever need to thrive. As for calcium you can either crush up chalk in a plastic bag and then sprinkle it into your tort's meals, or get a cuttlefish bone and put it into your enclosure. I do both, but sprinkle chalk only once a week.
