This cologne smell so good and it is long lasting.

I have tried loads of different after shaves but find the range of John Vavartos to be my favourite only beaten by Chanel Le Blue

This one is definitely interesting, this is my first encounter with John Varvatos branded cologne and so far I am impressed. Normally throughout the years I rarely changed my regular few other brands, but this one looked interesting, from the design of the bottle to the logo and the name.Despite the fact that my bottle came with a broken off XX metal emblem, which was completely detached from the top of the bottle ring, still the content and the cap were intact and that is what really matters, but is still worth mentioning in case you are getting it as a present for someone else.Now onto the perfume, i really like it, it's bold and different compared to some of the other ones I have, it is not too overpowering and it lasts quite long. I can feel the peppermint and the patchouli in the ingredients, but I can barely feel the cardamom, maybe I am just not too familiar with that scent. There are some other ones that can be sensed, a little of musk, some fresh cut wood and maybe a little bit of lemon.In some more special situations with big open areas and even outside, the reference is becoming easier to take and free flowing, I would not recommend it for closed quarters or day to day in office use, it can be somewhat overpowering if left to fill in the room.Overall, I really like this XX Indigo fragrance, it's unique, it lasts long and is different from any other one that I have.

This opens with fresh mint, pink peppercorn & patchouli with a woody vetiver note holding it in check. It is clean & fresh – kind of like barbershop scents. It has light citrus & spicy notes like cardamom & geranium flower. There is an underlying synthetic note that is not unpleasant. In the drydown, it is mainly patchouli with mint & a little leftover spice.It has moderate sillage & moderate lasting power. It becomes an up-close scent after about 3 hours and can still be smelled at the end of the day.This is a good clean EdT that doesn’t smell like all the other fragrances in this category.

I've been a big fan of John Varvatos' “Vintage” scent. It has a darker, spicer scent than XX Indigo which is lighter and fresher. I can never really pick out the notes in a fragrance, but XX Indigo has top notes of peppermint, mid notes of cardamom and a patchouli finish. I think it definitely has a woodsy smell to it, but not overly smoky or mossy. I can tell you this. It's a real masculine scent that lasts for a fairly long time at various strengths, about 5-8 hours I'd say. Towards the end of its cycle it might get a little bit musky, but not overwhelmingly so. This is a definitely in my top five scents in my collection. John Varvotos presents this cologne in a unique plain opaque indigo blue bottle. Hanging from the neck of the bottle on a chain is medallion that almost looks like a royal British MBE with “XX – John Varvatos on it. Don't worry though, if the chain gets ripped off and lost on the same is embossed on top of the cap. If you want to smell sophisticated and masculine then XX Indigo could be your go to scent.
