Bosch Professional 1x Expert HEX-9 HardCeramic Drill Bit (Ø 6,00 mm, Accessories Rotary Impact Drill)

As you'd expect from Bosch, this does the job. As you'd also expect, it's on the expensive side. In comparison with some much less expensive "no name" spear-pointed carbide drills (also from Amazon) it did not perform noticeably better. It may last longer - I'll let you know in a year's time!

Needed to drill around 12 holes in new bathroom, tiler told me porcelain tiles we had were very hard, Looked at loads of diamond tipped bits some costing around 30 quid, thought I'd give this one a go and drilled all required holes without problem, average time about 6 minutes.

Bosch have a serious problems with products performance. I bought Bosch product again hoping it might be durable but I was wrong. When I do the bathroom I'm expecting to use the tile drill bit for at least two or three bathrooms. This suppose to be hard ceramic drill bit, but lasted one hole and than landed in a bin. Works great on cheap soft ceramics but this is definitely not suitable for hard ceramic which I did. Don't waste your time and money just buy diamond drill bit.

Bought as modern tiles are hard, so went for hard ceramic bits. Pay more and get job done, well that's the theory. But after a few holes 4mm bit destroyed, switched to 5mm and that's showing heavy use. Only drilled 8 holes and two bits needed. Say last up to 10 times longer than standard, so that would mean 2-3 standard bits per hole?? Very disappointed, paid mm ore for a main stream premium (?) Brand and no better off!

Drill tiles in the bathroom are very quick, the drill head is very strong, highly recommended.
