We bought this headlamp at the same time we purchased our LED safety vests, mostly because our walking route has several poorly lit stretches and we wanted to be able to see the path clearly. This has turned out to be one of those small purchases that makes a big difference. The best feature by far is the motion-activated on/off function. Being able to wave a hand in front of the lamp instead of fumbling for a switch—especially while wearing gloves or walking in the cold—is extremely convenient. It responds quickly and hasn’t misfired, which surprised me in a good way. We typically use the lower of the two brightness options, and even that setting is more than enough for evening walks. The video we took makes it obvious how bright it is on the “dim” mode. The full-power flashlight feature isn’t something we use often, but it definitely has its place; it projects a strong beam far ahead and would be great for trail spots or checking uneven ground. Lightweight, comfortable, long battery life, and genuinely useful—this headlamp is a solid companion for anyone who walks or runs after dark. Definitely worth having.

I use this to do daily fleet inspections on deicing trucks at the airport at zero dark thirty. It lights up my work area enough to check fluid levels and read mileages. I like that it doesn't add a lot of weight to my forehead or affect my balance like some other headband flashlights can. I especially like that it is rechargeable. I also have a small flashlight I carry for work that takes one CR123 battery. It lasts maybe a week before it starts to dim. This light (which I also wear for work) is full intensity all the time, as long as I remember to plug it in at the end of my shift. Takes maybe two hours to charge. The motion on/off feature is nice, but I rarely use it. I turn on the LED's at full intensity and that's usually good enough. The motion sensor is also overly sensitive and can be activated by getting too close to the side of a truck, for instance. Better just to not use it. There are a variety of versions of this light on the market. I checked the reviews before deciding on this one. It's more expensive but has also paid for itself in battery replacement savings. I use it five days a week and so far, no problems.

This is best headlamp I have ever purchased. I use it almost daily year round. Perfect for late walks, late night tinkering in the yard or automotive tasks. Illuminates what you’re working on as much as would be needed. I’ve only tested the battery to about 3-4 hours at a time and it has never let me down. The strip light is perfect for night tasks relatively close and perfect for scavenging twigs for a campfire. The side light is much brighter and has a meaningful focused throw to about 30-50 yards. It is very comfortable and I often forget it’s on my head. I see critical reviews about it. It’s not gonna be a lamp that will last the camping weekend turned on all night every night with no recharge and it’s not going to hold up throwing it in a tool box and slamming power tools on it. But if you need a headlamp for mild to moderate evening tasks or working under something and need light this is what you should buy. There are no cons and no disappointments. I’ve had mine for 3 years with nearly daily use and it’s still going strong. I charge it every night when I’m done walking the dog. If you buy the Chinese knock offs I think you’ll be let down.

Works great at night for snow removal crews. Helps you see what you are woking on and helps others see you. Safety is key when working at night.

I have tried several but always come back to these

I have deleted my former bad review, in which I stated that the unit has terrible battery life, and was “disposable” - that was 100% operator error, my fault. But there is a thing to know! Although these use a USB-C port to charge the battery (which I appreciate) if you attempt to charge these with a USB-C charger of 20 or more watts, it will not charge. Use any USB-A charger brick (typically 5 watts) with an A>C cable, and it will charge fine, and we used one of these for 5 straight hours after a full charge last week, no problem. Was my bad, I was not thoughtful about how I was attempting to charge this. I am happy with the product anew.

Headlamp is easy to operate - very bright and battery lasts a long time. I dont use the motion detection much as I find it is not helpful in what I do.

The led light is great. The red light particularly is excellent. The hand waving motion thing is surprisingly useful, not just a gimmick. The only big drawback is that the rubber material attracts dust and is hard to clean - it doesn't wipe off easily... I have a small head (~55cm circumference) and this fits well. Though I do have to adjust the head strap occasionally since the strap doesn't quite stay in place.
