## Overview

Mobil 1 112980 Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid is a premium synthetic ATF designed to enhance transmission efficiency, provide exceptional wear protection, and maintain cleanliness under severe driving conditions. It performs reliably in extreme temperatures down to -54°C and resists thermal breakdown, making it ideal for high-demand vehicles including diesel trucks. Available in a convenient 6-quart pack, it’s the go-to choice for professionals and enthusiasts seeking OEM-level synthetic quality and smooth shifting performance.

## Description

Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF outperforms conventional automatic transmission fluids and helps to provide outstanding resistance to oil breakdown and deposits. The inherently high viscosity index and stability of Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF helps to protect against thermal breakdown at high operating temperatures, while still providing outstanding performance at ambient temperatures as low as -54 degrees Celsius. Further, it helps to improve overall transmission durability and cleanliness. Automatic transmissions should be checked for proper fluid levels at regular intervals, and the fluid should be changed at manufacturer recommended intervals. However, this may vary due to your vehicle's operating conditions. Some manufacturers recommend more frequent changes of transmission fluid under severe driving conditions, such as heavy traffic, hot weather and trailer pulling.

Review: Top recommended for F350 Transmissions - I was comparing many fluids for my 2000 F350 Diesel. I settled on the Mobil 1 for a few reasons, one is it is rated highly as far as using a high quality oil base stock, and decreased heat and increased performance. On the 7.3 diesels there are a lot of nuts who do tons and tons of research on the fluids they use, and they almost all placed Mobil1 next to the race oils like Redline, and Royal Purple. These cases help take the bite out of the fluid costs, they are $10/qt localy, which would have been $160 for me to flush my transmission and flush the Hydro Brake system. With these cases they were delivered to my door and for a discount and after the job i had a few extra quarts incase i need to top off next week or spilled some. I can say hands down putting the Synthetic ATF made a night and day difference in my Hydro Brake system which had lots of hard spots steering and weak brakes. It is a system that was rated for ATF and is commonly forgotten about. For the transmission i was very worried about keeping an OEM rated fluid in there which had to be synthetic and with the correct additives for the transmission, these trannys are really taking a beating, the diesel has so much power i did not want to give it an excuse to damage it self with heat or poor fluid. Overall besides the price i will be using Mobil 1 for now on in my Ford
Review: PROJECT FARM SHOWS FAVORABLE RESULTS - PROJECT FARM is an awesome channel on U-TOOB that does common sense testing on many common products in a semi-controlled way. Results are untainted and are for all to see, often in sped-up time. The channel is not sponsored by anyone but those who wish to contribute. All products are paid for with the testor's own money received from his supporters. Some of the testing is done just for fun of it, like testing pig fat as a small engine lubricant, which actually showed surprising results. On the other hand, Todd, the owner of the channel, also does some serious testing, like cold and hot flow rates on various leading brand synthetic oils, like this new desertcart Basics synthetic 5W-30 oil. This oil actually flowed better in cold and hot flow tests compared to Mobil 1 and it's lubricity, while not quite as good as Mobil 1 5W-30, was "almost" as good, but for it's MUCH lower price, seems like a better value for most users that do average driving.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Hi, would this be a good fluid for a 2001 Mercedes E320? It has a 722.6 transmission. Thank you!**
A: Fuchs 4134, Shell 134, and Mobil 134 are approved by MB for the 722.6 five speed and the 722.9 seven speed trannies. The first two ATFs are sold on Amazon. I can't find anything that clearly, specifically states that this Mobil 1 is the same as Mobil 134. The Benzworld forum has a lot of useful info re trannies (the kind that shift, not the kind that wears dresses.)

**Q: Will this work in a 1990 land rover Defender 200tdi with an automatic zf transmission?**
A: The only listing that I can find for a 1990 Land Rover is for a Range Rover. This calls for Dexron ATF. The Mobil 1 ATF Mercon works with cars that require Dexron or Mercon ATF.

**Q: Can i use this on my mercedes-benz ml500 2002**
A: This product is for use in GM cars produced before 2005 and also many Ford and Chrysler vehicles. It is not recommended for your Mercedes.

**Q: Can I use this for my 2008 tiidai?**
A: Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (eCVT) Fluid (For HEV)Inspect for leaks and fluid level with the filler plug removed at specified intervals. If towing a trailer, using a camper or car-top carrier, or driving on rough or muddy roads, replace the eCVT fluid every 30,000 miles or 24 months.Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF meets or exceeds the requirements of:JASO 1-AFord MERCON® V According to ExxonMobil, Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF is of the following quality level:Allison C4GM DEXRON® IIIHGM DEXRON® IIIGGM DEXRON® IIEGM DEXRON® IIDGM DEXRON® IIGM DEXRON®Ford MERCON®Voith H55.6335.3XMAN 339 V1Volvo 97340Volvo 97341

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The only ATF I would recommend and use for ALL my cars
*by T***2 on March 11, 2013*

Been using Mobil 1 ATF in the different generations for almost 20 yrs in all my cars starting back on a new 93 Accord that had well over 200k with NO trans issues when it was traded in. I tend to keep my cars a long time and do my own maintenance so I see the value in getting the BEST fluids for the cars. I change the fluid (drain and refill ~ 3 qts) every 15k miles. The fluid that comes out looks as good as what I put back in. NO overheating, NO discoloration, NO burnt smell....and smooth shifting, reliable shifts in my 93 Mustang, my second 93 Accord and 01 Cherokee. Same fluid in all of them. I bought the second Accord used from the original owner who had Honda do all the service work. They changed the ATF fluid every 30k or so with Honda fluid. It had to be replaced at 97k with a reman unit. And the car was on the highway for most of its miles. Everyone knows that Honda screwed up the filter system in the trans so I added and external Magnefine filter and used synthetic since I got the car at 104k miles. The new reman trans had only 7k on it. At 178k, everything works as it should. Highly recommended and this is a great value compared to AutoZone or Advance Auto.
