Excellent value for money and a great gadget
I wanted another Alexa for the house, as I was missing my one in the office which I now have at my Dad's house for when I am there. I looked at the new echo dot, and then saw this refurbished Show 5, which was cheaper than the dot. I thought I would give it a go, and I am glad I did - it is great, I have it in the kitchen, it still synchs with my echo wall clock for timers, and gives me a visual for recipes, facts etc., I would not be without it. It is small, so it you want one you can full interact with, then get a bigger show, I have an 8 and a 15 in other rooms, but as a dot replacement it cannot be faulted.

Replacement!
This was a replacement for a faulty one, works great so far and perfect for the dog to have some music playing when we pop out briefly, and works faultless with the lights and smart plugs I have around other rooms, great product.

Great device but keeps cutting off
Great product and connected to my other echo dots. Only problem is it keeps turning off especially when calling out Alexa’s name

Great value
Great value compact screen with great resolution and a full sound. Works well with integration to Ring doorbells and TP-Link Tapo cameras. Drop in feature means you can also view inside a room. ETA. Knocked off a star as my first one needed to be returned with an intermittent fault. But having said, it was a refurb and very good value. The replacement has been a solid choice that I use to control heating, view cctv and control lamps via smart plugs.

It's works very well, I'm happy with it
I like that it has a good screen, Alexa is clear and easy to understand. It recognises my voice after following the instructions. I love that I can upload my pictures on it, and customise what pictures I wanted. It took a little while for it to work with my Ring Video doorbell, after I linked it. I cut out a lot of the notifications on the different topics that Alexa likes to keep you informed about on the screen. Overall I'm very happy. 🙂

Disappointed
This was the first re-conditioned item I’ve bought on Amazon - based on reviews I thought it would be fine.Sadly not! I set it up - logged into my Amazon account & wifi - device showing in Alexa app. Asked “Alexa?”No response. Checked that the ‘wake word’ was “Alexa”. Tried again - nothing. Checked mute button was not selected. Again: “Alexa” - no response. Checked volume was up. Yes it was.Re-started (unplugged)… no response. Re-set router. Still no response. Did a factory re-set and in-put all my passwords again - still nothing. Device showing as ‘online and WiFi signal excellent’.Tried whole process again 3 times! Still no response. Tried typing in commands only to be told “sorry I can’t do that right now”.A very lengthy chat to Amazon customer service resulted in a replacement being ordered and return set up.Waited most if next day for replacement only for the EXACT SAME SITUATION! What a waste of time, effort and expectation. Very, very disappointing.Now Amazon have told me to “keep or dispose of the replacement “ - there’s no point keeping it as it does not work. Dispose? What a waste! I won’t put this in my general waste bin as these items are not good for landfill. So, a lengthy trip to the recycling centre for responsible disposal means more of my time and money spent to get there and back!Not happy at all!

Bought refurbished!
Purchased so the I could use it as a screen for a baby monitor! Sound not as good as echo dot, otherwise it suits the purpose for which it was bought!
