A wonderful guide on how to keep you brain healthy as you age!
What a wonderful book. It was moving to read the author's introductions about their own experiences with Alzheimer's - both having mother's who were afflicted with disease. I spend many days with my dad at his nursing home. Fortunately, he does not have dementia. However, many of the people he spends his days with it suffer from various stages of the disease. It is hopeful reading this book - there are things we can do to help avoid this debilitating disease and these authors do a wonderful job of consolidating the science and approaches to Alzheimer's prevention. I loved the easy to read, science-based advice and practical tips presented. The meal plans serve as a wonderful "idea generator" for brain-healthy options. I will be being several copies of this book to give to friends and family.

Good job
I just received this I'm still reading it . I lost my mom to Alzheimer's an I have one copy of this horrendous disease. I'm very strict an disciplineWith my diet. I eat Whole Foods organic vegetables an lean meats . I've recently cut back on red meat. An I ALSO ADDED GRAINS BACK INTO MY DIET. I felt I've been brain washed by dr. Perlmutter which I have tremendous respect for but I don't really believe that grains are going to make your brain shrink. I've also been on keto . I also have hypothyroidism so at the end of the day I personally need carbs. I also added in beans an buckwheat, brown rice oats, so I find that this book is an excellent guide to my diet that I'm on. The only thing that I can hope for is that the will make a recipe book. There's a two week sample meal plan but no recipes. For example there's a Thai curry soup suggestion for lunch but no recipe. Bummer that means I have to go find a recipe that fits into all these guidelines an make it. I love to google but sometimes it's just to time consuming. I hope they will make a cookbook.

Great hands-on resource book for everyday use
I purchased this book for my 80-year old parents. It is very user-friendly, easy to understand, and readily applicable to a daily routine.Another plus is the font size is nice for mature readers.A bit surprised to see a section for grains included, as I have read in other sources gluten should be avoided for optimal brain health.Otherwise, the Two Week Meal plan is giving my parents the jumpstart they need to begin preparing more brain-healthy meals.I may purchase a copy for myself!

I liked this book
I found this book to be informative. My mom has Alzheimer's, diabetes and kidney problems, There is a lot of food she can and can't eat. I learned a little more about what I want to feed her, especially when it comes to spices. In the past I haven't used to many spices but they sure make a difference.

Never Used
After I got the book, it occurred to me that if these foods worked to slow dementia that information would be on the national news. After I got the book I discovered my SIL had purchased it. My brother has dementia and she told me the foods didn’t help.

Easy to read and apply to your life.
This book has a lot of good nutrition information which is presented in a very interesting and easy to understand format. It explains the reasons behind the recommendations for each food and the benefits each one has for helping prevent Alzheimer's and other ailments. It is explained so well and then has menus and food plans to put it all into action. Alzheimer's is in my family and I highly recommend this book!

Insidious disease
Alzheimer's has risen its insidious head in my husband's family. It's my hope that with the information in this book I'll be able to improve the odds my husband may not be diagnosed with this disease as his parents were. This book doesn't contain recipes, for those you'll need other books. These authors provide nutritional information, comparing different diets as well.
