2204 Hunter Lane

I love love love Marley Matthew and Hunter Lane. This story follows the two main characters and it’s dual POV so you get all the feels. Marley has currently left Lincoln, Nebraska due to her finding out her now ex-boyfriend has been cheating on her. There is a small little farmhouse that she stumbles upon. Inside she meets Dex and Payton Lane along with Hunter Lane. Marley finds comfort in this little farmhouse but there’s only one problem, Hunter. Payton seems to adore her from the start and Dex warms up to her but Hunter has no problem sharing any distaste he feels towards Marley. She is everything he hates about life, big city girl trying to make sure everyone understand she is above everyone else and they should all be at her beck and call. Fast forward to a couple of weeks Marley proves to Hunter that she isn’t the brat her thought her out to be. But Marley makes a decision to make a life-changing phone call.“If you aren’t willing to fight for what you’re after, you don’t deserve it in the first place.”There are a lot of topics that are covered in this book, they are pretty heavy topics, so again please check your triggers. This was such a wonderful story and it is based on true events. It has a bit of enemies to lovers, slow burn, I thought the banter was top tier and the nicknames Hunter would come up for people was the absolute funniest. Please if you can just drop everything and go read this book I will most likely re-read once I have the physical copy in my hands. <3

The MC, Marley, should might as well hold a sign saying “I’m a door mat” since she loves getting stepped on.Spoilers…Hunter is rude, selfish, and there’s seriously ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THAT MADE ME LIKE HIM. This is one love interest I did not care for. He f**** practically every single woman he comes in contact with but as soon as he sees Marley he decides he hates her just bc she’s from NYC?? What a stupid reason to hate her for! Also the whole reason why he drives under the influence was just as stupid.Also, he never showed actual love interest for Marley. He still kept having s** with other girls like all the time. Not to mentioned he had just gotten done having s** with two girls when he hears Marley is going back home and he finally decides to reads the letters and then decides to kiss her?? I literally cringed when they finally kissed. I did not fell any excitement at all. The fact that Ms. Doormat lets him kiss her. After they were done kissing for the first time he said “This is what I needed all this time. This makes me feel alive.” LMFAOOO What he needs is to go to therapy and alcoholic anonymous. Which she also needs therapy because girly needs to stop letting people treat her like s***. But anyways they proceed to have sex (surprise surprise) and all I kept thinking is if he even showered after his “three-day bender with Tabitha and Zetty.” Like I’m sorry are we supposed to believe that he loves Marley???????? When he literally just got done having a 3**** and all it took is for him to read her letters lolAlso, his dad, stepmom, best friend and everyone in town should get arrested for letting him drive drunk practically every day. Like yea I get that your mom died but why are his family/friends normalizing the fact that he goes to the bar every single day and also don’t speak up when he drives drunks every day even though a DRUNK DRIVER was the reason the mom died???? I seriously never hated a love interest until I read this book.I also gagged when he would call her sweetheart bc HE ALSO USED THAT NICKNAME FOR OTHER WOMEN lmfaoooooOMG of course Ms. Doormat changes her mind to move to NYC even though she had everything packed, she had a new job, and was ready to start her new life ALL FOR A MAN THAT DOESN’T TREAT HER RIGHT for the second time in the book. Girly please have some self respect!I’m sorry but who is in love with Hunter????????? Like whooooo? Because there’s no way someone fell in love with him. There’s nothing to fall in love with!!!! He’s a terrible human!Also does this man even work???? Because it is mentioned that he works for his dad but how does he ever managed to work when he’s always drunk??? Also Marley’s marketing skills were so GREAT that she was able to help the Lane family open multiple businesses in like less than 2 months HAHAHAH How realistic. Also Hunter really sent a picture of Marley’s behind to her ex to let him know what he’s missing??????? Like what??After they kissed for the first time the rest of the book is basically all s** scenes and absolutely no character development. He just stopped drinking even though he had a serious drinking problem all bc he’s dating her? And their relationship just simply worked with no issues even though they both have incredible amounts of issues???I’m sad I lost sleep over this book. It was so painful trying to finish it but I did it lol

This book was wonderful. I laughed, I cried, I got very mad but the ending was perfect! Will definitely recommend

So…the main reason I picked up this book was because of the snide TikTokers crying about how the TikToks from the author were misleading. They’re big mad, lol.They shouldn’t be. This book was beautiful. Beautifully sad, broken and healing.I also read this book because of the poor reviews on Goodreads — which I don’t agree with, obviously. But I’m all for opinions, even if I feel they were influenced by the butt hurt TikTokers. LOL.You’ll see some videos saying this book needs a TW for cheating — it does not. People need to stop reaching.Don’t even read the synopsis for this book, just read it. Open minded. And enjoy. I know I did.

I was still surprised with the grasp this book had on me in the beginning, I was unable to put it down the first 40% of the book… but then it just kinda became “meh”.. that being said it was still a good book but It just lost the choke hold it had on me in the beginning. There was a lot of skipping time, which I can’t stand.. it all was building up to an inevitable scene that you saw coming from the first time you read Hunter’s pov and when the scene happened I was so unfazed.. Also, Hunter was a pos lol messing around with four different chicks, two of which were at the same time merely a few hours before he realizes his feelings for Marley… like no you lost me there. It was an ok read in my opinion, not my style I suppose.

This is hands down the best book I have read in a while. The character development was perfect, the setup was perfect. Usually stories with some type of trauma for the character, rush through to get to the happily ever after and the author really missed the development of characters and the plot, but Not Marie! She truly has a way with words. This story flowed so flawlessly, this is a book that will be read again and again! No matter how many books you have in your TBR, read this first you won't regret it. 10/10 would definitely recommend 🤍

A book about a man who felt guilty when a drunk driver hit his car killing his mom and he lived. 4 years later he's drinking his life away. A big city girl who left it all behind to follow a man who ended up cheating on her. She lands in hus doorstep and his stepmom takes her in. They hate each other till they soon see that they need each other to end the pain of the past.

If it wasn’t for the lateness of the hour I would have completed this book in one sitting. You know how else I knew I loved this book? I had an intense frown on my face (and constantly being asked are you ok!?!) because I was so engrossed with Mar and Hunter.I stumbled upon Marie on TikTok promoting her debut novel based on real life experiences from her AND the real Hunter Lane. I totally recommend you check out her TTs (there’s a recording of his voice and *faint* 🤭🤭)Any ways there were times I really wanted to jump kick Hunter for his treatment of Marley / Bambi but in a way I could understand where his head was at, and to be honest for someone who has that amount of guilt within them it could have been SO much worse!Marley has titanium balls, seriously! She may have had low self esteem amongst other things because of her parents but she took no crap from Hunter. After everything he did she still fought and I give her props for that #Respect!Mar and Hunter as they progressed brought out the best in each other. Mar became more self confident about every aspect of herself and Hunter’s dark cloud started to dissipate. Is it greedy of me that I want more of them? Cause I really do!Can’t wait to see where else you have in store for us Marie, and I’m totally here for the ride 🥰🥰

If i could give this infinite stars i would. I don’t know what i expected when buying this book as soon as it came out but i don’t even care because i love it so much.Marley is just amazing, she’s one female character that actually didn’t annoy me a single time (which is quite shocking), and then Hunter, well… he’s just one of the hottest men i’ve ever read about. I’m not a big fan of blonde’s but i’ll make an exception for him.Actually reading about ‘the accident’ and exactly what happened when Hunter had that one memory broke my heart. I’m so glad Marley made him happy though. They both deserve the entire world.“All the sensitive parts of me. all the weak parts of me, every single part of me that lived in the shadows… it was hers”

A book over a certain price in this case over £5.00, you have certain expectations which this book did not meet. The main character's were not particularly likeable and I found them to be rather boring and immature. Maybe the book is really aimed for the young teenage market. Deeply regretted buying the book and ended up skimming after having realised the story wasn't going to get anymore interesting.

This has been a highly anticipated read of mine since I stumbled upon Marie- France and her teasers that left everyone wanting and boy did she serve!The characters are all their own and have their story to tell and written to fit so well together, I having nothing but praise for this author.This book is something else, an emotional rollercoaster will sum it however, the highs and lows are all worth it. It’s sweet and sexy and it hints to what every girl wants romance.Uniquely it’s own and will always have a top spot on my bookshelf.I’m looking forward to what Marie writes next!

I absolutely LOVED this! I've been waiting for release day after seeing a few snippets on tiktok and it did not disappoint!!Hunter and Marley are such incredible characters, the storyline has serious depth and I could not put it down. I'm pretty sure I could re-read it right now, even though I've just finished it. It's going in my top ten favourite books.Can't wait to read more from Leger!
