AT&T EL52106 Expandable Cordless Phone with Answering System and Caller ID/Call Waiting, Silver/Black with 1 Handset

Works perfectly and I didn't even realize it came with 3 phones and 2 based. Great deal!

Was not 'expandable'. Could not add more phones to this set.

Where's the speed dial for this phone, strange with today's technology that there's no speed dial options except for voicemail.

This is a pretty good answering machine. But I wish I had bought the EL52100 instead, because it has controls that appear larger and easier to find/read. On the other hand, this machine (EL52106) is very compact. I guess it's a tradeoff.My one complaint about this device is that it doesn't do quite what I want. I would like to be able to listen to any messages being recorded as they are being recorded, so I can pick up the phone if it's someone I want to talk to. I can do this if I turn on "Call Screening", using the menu, but in this case I also hear my outgoing message (hello, leave a message at the beep). The problem is that 95% of my calls are hangups from junk calls, and so if I turn on Call Screening, I hear the outgoing message for all of them. This matters to me because I work right next to the phone. I really ONLY want to hear the caller messages, NOT BOTH the caller messages PLUS my outgoing message. (And I definitely don't want to hear the phone ring, but I was able to turn that off easily.)At least this machine doesn't record a message for the hangups, like my previous answering machine did. So now instead of coming home to 10 or 15 empty messages, I just see a very nice zero!We have an old house with plaster walls, but I have no trouble talking on the phone all over the house.
