## Description

The Celestron Universal T-Adapter connects a DSLR or SLR camera body to a telescope with a 1.25” focuser or eyepiece adapter installed. The T-Threads on the top of the Universal T-Adapter screw into a T-Ring (sold separately) that is designed to attach to the brand-specific mounting flange of your camera. The barrel end of the T-Adapter slides into the focuser, just like an eyepiece, and locks into place with the focuser or eyepiece adapter thumbscrew. Please note that some telescopes, especially “fast” refractors and most Newtonians, may not have enough focus travel to allow the photographic image to come to focus when used in prime focus mode. In these instances, we recommend using the Universal Barlow & T-Adapter (#93640), which will double the magnification, but will allow the telescope to reach focus. Prime focus photography is popular for short exposure images of terrestrial objects as well as celestial objects like the Moon.

Review: Mounting a Nikon on a Celestron telescope. - It fits correctly and gets the job done. You may need other adapters to work with your camera. For my setup, my Nikons have F-mounts, so I also need a F-mount to T-mount adapter. Then you have to readjust the telescope for balance with the camera hanging off it. The adapters aren't very expensive, so you're not making a huge investment, and they're nice to have around. If your camera will allow it, have it leave the mirror up. If your telescope isn't on a very solid mount, the mirror flipping will make the photo blurry. Also, touching the shutter button will do the same. I attached it to my laptop, so I could use that as my viewfinder, and trigger it remotely. That gave me very respectable results.
Review: Wish there would have been instruction with it, finally figured it out. - So I was having the same issue that the other people with poor ratings were stating, couldn't get the telescope and camera to focus. Basically waiting for a non-cloudy night where I could see the moon, something to focus on. 1st attempt I hooked it up, but could not get the moon to focus. Thought that I couldn't get everything to go close enough. Then I tried it one night without the camera just the adapter and the telescope, realized that it needed a lens in the adapter. Now was figuring how is this going to work. That's what the little screw on the side is for, to hold a lens in the neck of the adapter. Also however my lens inside the adapter makes the lens protrude inside the camera body. So I didn't end up screwing the adapter fully onto the t-mount. Just enough to get it to hold. Then pictures galore. Simple product just a tube to allow you to attach the camera to the telescope, like the option of changing lenses as this lets me have different magnification shots of the sky.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: For a NexStar 6 SE with a Canon EOS T5i, is this the correct T-adapter to get?**
A: Yes this would work but if you are going to go this route get the one that has the 2x Barlow with it (more photo options). But the way I would go, is with the Celestron CE93633-A "Celestron T-adapter for all Schmidt-Cassegrains". You unscrew the whole eye-peace mounting system and it threads on in place of it then your camera threads on the other end (I would trust my Canon T2i with this more than the Eye-peace adapter). Then the last thing you would need is the t-ring for your camera. The "Celestron 93419 T-Ring for 35 mm Canon EOS Camera (Black)" would be exactly what you are needing.

**Q: Can other eyepieces be attached to gain a higher magnification?**
A: Chis... Your question is incomplete. The Universal T-Adapter has two applications. Visual observation and Astrophotography. For astrophotography, the T-Adapter attaches your camera to the visual back of the telescope and proides a focal-plane imaging system. No occular (eyepiece) is used. However the built-in Barlow lens provides an effective doubling of your telescopes focal length (i.e. a 1000mm f/10 SCT is effectively a 2000mm f/20 "lens").For visual observing, the adapter will accept any 1.25" occular. The Barlow lens is removable for either application. For eyepice-pojection astrophotography, consider the Tele-Extender Deluxe. This will allow you tu use most 1.25" occulars as a projection lens. Not that the optical speeds of this approach is extremely slow. f/30 would be good. So it is only practical for very bright objects (planets, moon, etc.).

**Q: With the canon adapter, will this T-adapter work on my celestron firstcope #114 reflector? Or do I need additional pieces, such as barlow?**
A: Mine does NOT work with the Canon EOS adapter in the 114EQ without a Barlow. It will not focus, not enough travel. But, it DOES work in my 127EQ without a Barlow. There I can get it to focus fine.I found that when you must use a Barlow to focus, it gets useless. The image is too dim and the field of view too narrow.

**Q: Can the bottom element of this barlow be unthreaded and fit directly on to the eyepiece's 1.25" thread to get 1.5X magnification.**
A: yes the ring with the lens element does screw into the filter thread at the bottom of the Celestron lenses and any others I have that were same thread. Park lens did not have same thread.

I received the Celestron 93625 Universal 1.25-inch Camera T-Adapter on time as promised. The adapter met or exceeded the advertised specifications and was well constructed. It performed great on my Dynamax 8 as expected. I would recommend it for use when the camera is mounted into the telescope eyepiece holder. Your eyepiece holder must be sturdy enough to hold a SLR or DSLR camera body. I did not have any problems with focusing on my Dynamax 8. Balancing my camera/telescope combination took a little work since I was using a 90 degree erecting eyepiece holder on my telescope. A straight through eyepiece holder may be better. If your telescope permits removal of the eyepiece holder then you may wish to get the Celestron T-Mount or the Opteka T-Mount Adapter to fit your particular SLR or DSLR camera. I later used the T-Mount Adapter to attach my camera directly to my telescope and eliminating the telescope's removable eyepiece holder. I did NOT have any focusing problems with the camera T-Adapter or the camera T-Mount adapter with my Dynamax 8 telescope. The adapters are designed to be used with the camera lens removed. The Celestron camera adapter permits the insertion of a 1.25 diameter plain barrel eyepiece into the adapter to increase the magnifying power but this reduces the light greatly due to the added lenses of the eyepiece and from the eyepiece projected image onto the film or camera sensor chip. The reduced light will require longer exposures and therefore require manual tracking or a telescope tracking device (clock drive). When using an inserted eyepiece into the camera T-Adapter, care must be taken to make sure that longer barrel eyepieces do not obstruct the camera's mirror flip-up action.
