is this the holster or just strap

This is the thumb snap only !...if you don`t want to use the holster flap you can remove it from the holster, you can then put the thumb strap on to retain your firearm .

Is this holster molle compatible?

Yes, The holster in the pic can attach to a molle vest or a duty belt.But, keep in mind the actual product listing is only for a thumb strap conversion for the Bianchi UM84/m12 hoslter.

Will this strap work for a glock 19 and the bianchi military universal holster size 2?

I don't think it will, the holster was not designed for a striker styled pistol with this strap, it is very tight and rather short. Luckily, the G19 will fit with the standard flap, although rather tight.

Will this actually work for carrying a cocked and locked 1911? Some reviews said the strap was too small, other said the strap fit perfectly.

Yes. Just tried it on a Remington R1 1911 5" and a Bianchi UM-84. Will function cocked and locked or hammer down on an empty chamber on the 1911.
