ULTRAGEL® Anywhere, Anytime Personal Comfort Gel Pad-SG (Soft Gel) (8.5x12.5, Black/Non-Slip)

12 x 8 x 0.5 inches? Hah! Yeah right. There's no alternate reality in which this is 0.5 inches thick. It's 5 mm thick. Not even 1 cm thick. Not even a quarter of an inch. 0.5 cm thick. It is, quite literally, worthless.I've seen some photos on here of versions that look thicker. I don't know if those are old products before some kind of redesign or the description on Amazon for this size is just flat out wrong. But it IS flat out wrong.The pad feels soft if you hold it in your hand. But if you put it on your desk and try putting an arm or elbow on it? You may as well have your arm & elbow directly on your desk. At 5 mm thickness you may as well not even have it. You'd need 3 of them stacked together just to get to 0.5 inches thick.You can see the photos, they speak for themselves. Though, it is at least 12x8. But it's really 12 x 8 x 0.19 inches.I'm not sure I've ever been quite this disappointed in a product before.

Revised review:I've been using this product for a few months (~3) and there are large bubbles in the surface of the gel that will not go away. The gel pad has been laying flat on my desk in a climate-controlled office, so I have no idea what could have caused the issue. The bubbles can be temporarily smoothed away, but always pop back up. Maybe I just got a lemon?Original review:I'm trapped at a computer for 10 hours a day. My desk is awkwardly arranged, and at the end of the day my mouse-arm is tingly and uncomfortable. I stuck this thing under my elbow and it's WONDERFUL. The gel is dense and cool, but this pad isn't so thick that it pushes my shoulder out of line (which is an issue with some of the cheaper gel pads). Because this thing is rectangular it's versatile and could be used for my wrist or my non-dominant hand. Get one!

I've used this pad on my desk for a few hours each day over the past few weeks. It is very comfortable and cushions my elbow and forearm nicely.That said, after just a few days of use, huge bubbles began to develop all over under the skin of the cover. I smoothed them down, then they would pop back up again. It doesn't affect the overall comfort of the pad, but it's something that is really annoying to me. At almost thirty bucks, I expected better durability, especially for something that has been subjected to such light use.For comparison, I also own a mouse pad with a gel wrist rest that is covered in similar material. I've been using that pad for 8 years, and it's still in great condition. No bubbles, no peeling of the cover anywhere. It wasn't a crazy expensive neoprene gel mousepad/wrist rest combo, either. That's why I had such great expectations for this product- I figured that if it cost more, it would be an amazing quality pad. Wrong here!!! Don't waste your money on this one, folks. I'll be on the lookout for something more durable.

These are great at relieving pressure on joints - I use them mostly under my wrists when working on the microscope, and they provide instant and long-lasting relief during long days at work.The price is a little steep, but I tried several other similar pads on Amazon, hoping to find a cheaper alternative and these were by far the best. So I ended up spending another $26 to buy a second one since my left wrist was getting jealous from my right. The other models I tried were either too hard or too slippery against the desktop surface, so it made more sense to just spend a bit extra and get a superior product that I can enjoy many times day, several days a week.I can see how people might have problems if they apply heavy pressure to these pads, like resting lots of weight on their elbows. The material is very soft and gel-like and I imagine it would get messed up by heavy pressure, but for mild to moderate pressure, these are perfect. The top-side material is very soft and the gel feels cool to the touch and very soothing. Highly recommended.

The product does what it is designed to do and will help with Ulnar Nerve irritation or Cubital Tunnel syndrome.The reason for the 3-star review is due to price and quality. The material and feel is high quality and the non-slip back does a great job. However, when I received the larger pad (I ordered the smallest one first) it had some large and noticeable air bubbles inside it (the small one did not). I could feel the air bubbles and can move them around. It was quite annoying especially for a mat that cost almost $50. For that price, I expect a product this simple to be flawless.Eventually, I took a needle and jabbed the air bubbles to squeeze them out which was not perfect but made them much less noticeable. I am not sure if this will compromise the integrity of the product over time.

11/3/2021:All has been working great over the years. I now have 6 total and I use them as elbow pad for when I work from my desk. Couldn't be any happier!!Edit 6/12/17:These guys are great!! They contacted me within a few weeks and were able to send me their improved design as replacement. it has been a month since and they are holding up just fine. 4/4 is functioning perfectly at this point. Please see newly updated photo and make sure you get the ones that are sew on the edges.Edit 4/26/17:1 out of 4 is falling apart again...from light use ...(was on vacation for a month)...Alwell...Edit 1/13/17:Comfort by Conformax's customer service has contacted me and offered to replace these defective ones. Replacement came quickly and it has been another two weeks of use, but this time without any problem. So thumbs up for quality service and quality product. Will still recommend the 4.5x8.5in ones to anyone looking for cushioning pads as they are more practical.Orignial:Well....I have the 4.5x8.5in ones that I use at work and these at home to cushion my elbows against my computer desk. The ones I used at work has been working fantastically.... but these ones, after 2 weeks of light use (very light use).... it started falling apart.... (see attached picture)It still works... but the gel is sticky and over time it's not going to be a fun experience.
