Embarrassingly, I have a large head. Most headsets are too tight on my ears, so my ears end up hurting. Any experience from people with large heads?

It fits fine, but if wearing for over an hour at a time the padding does start to lose its effectiveness with my large ears.

will this headset work with apple products

Apple has made a lot of products over years. I don't know if it works with all of them, but it works fine with my Macbook Pro running Mavericks. I just wrote a review and said you plug it in then go to System Preferences -> Sound then you can select "Life Chat LX-3000" from the menu. You need to do this for both input and output and make sure the volume of each is turned up. No drivers or additional software is needed. The sound quality is very good for the money. These should work as well with any recent Mac

Will this headset work well with Dragon Naturally Speaking software (the Home Edition)?

I am not familiar with this software. All I can offer is that the sound quality is not as crisp for language learning as the headset provided by Rosetta Stone. I don't think its quality for music is up to par either.
