ObozMen's Sawtooth X Low Hiking Shoe

Excellent comfortable hiking shoe with great traction.
These shoes replaced a pair of Keen's that I have had for about 8 years. My Keens set a high bar for comfort whatever was to follow but I wanted a shoe that would not have the sole treads peel away like Keen's are prone to. My initial purchase was a size 11 which I have worn for 20+ years but I found that these shoes run small. Replacing the 11's with an 11.5 was perfect and I found the shoes to be very comfortable from that point forward. These shoes accompanied me on a vacation out west where we hit 4 of Utah's Mighty Five national parks and the north rim of the Grand Canyon. I am not a serious hiker. I do it for fun and recreation so I didn't put more than 5-7 miles per day on these shoes but I never had a issue with them. The traction on dust, gravel and slick rock was excellent and I felt very stable traversing up and down. They held me with out concern while we waited in the line for 20 minutes for a photo under Delicate Arch on a 45 degree slick rock slope. They were equally good on the dust and gravel of the North Kaibab Trail. They clean up easily and lace up firmly across my foot. Overall I am very pleased. I don't see any indications that the sole treads will separate like my Keen's so I am very optimistic.

GOOD but tight
I bought a 1/2 size up and the heal is still super tight…. A lot of glue drips ( even some of your product pics have them )Not the best fit for a wide foot

Not what they were before COVID
I wore the sawtooths that I bought before COVID down to the mid-soles; they were phenomenal. The new ones do not breathe well and my feet get uncomfortably hot. They are acceptable--and still incredibly stable and supportive--but they are no longer excellent.

Very Comfortable
I bought a pair of these for work to replace a worn-out pair of Keen's. At first, the sole felt hard and unyielding, but after about two days of wearing them, they "loosened up" and they are very supportive and comfortable. I have some nerve damage in my feet and it's very difficult for me to find shoes that don't hurt my feet. These are some of the most comfortable shoes I've found in years. About two weeks after buying the first pair for work, I ordered another pair to wear outside of work.

“good to go”
OBOZ are generally “good to go” right out of the box! Have never needed a true “break in period”.Put these on & went on a 4 mile walk:))

One does not expect this kind of behavior in a hiking shoe . . . .
INITIAL REVIEW:These shoes fit great, so much so that I immediately ordered a second pair. Unfortunately, after less than 100 miles in the woods, the bottoms are already separating from the tops on the first pair. I'm sorry to see that Oboz is engaged in a rush to shoddiness. They've certainly lost me as a customer.AMENDED A FEW MONTHS LATER: After less than 150 miles on these, the soles totally separated from the tops. (Fortunately, I keep duct tape in my pack just in case something like this happens -- otherwise I would have had to have hobbled 6 miles back to my car.) As I mentioned above, I had bought two pairs of these. I just threw out the first pair and donated the second pair (unopened) to a charity bin. In the box, I included a note apologizing to the recipient for gifting them such a lousy pair of hiking boots.Aside from the unfortunate tendency to literally fall apart, these shoes have another problem: they tighten up by themselves! On hikes, I found myself constantly fiddling with them to keep loosening them.I don't know if this is a limited quality control issue or whether the company is taking a nose dive in the quality dept. However, as I indicated in my original review, I won't be around to find out. Never buying Oboz again.

My husband loved them. I have 2 pairs of Oboz for hiking and recommended them to my husband for support and comfort and an every day shoe.

Last forever
I hike 3 to 4 miles every day in the North Shore Mountains and usually get 2 years out of my hiking boots My last pair of these Oboz lasted 5 years and still look ok. So much so that I replace the laces and put in a new in sole and dropped them off at the local Homeless Shelter.
