We Both Read-The Emperor's New Clothes (Pb)

It's a simple short book with cute pop-ups. There are only a few pages but it is all that is needed to tell the story for a young child. It will def be a hit! Also, arrived in pristine condition -- I have a hard time believing that it's a used book!

Bought this for my seven year old. She is able to read along, and this is a great story for her to read at night.

Many versions exist but this is my favorite because of the illustrations (I laughed) and the reminder at the end of the book (About the story) ... "All we know is that the story of the emperor will last forever because in every man's heart is the hope that there will always be someone to speak the truth where there is hypocrisy. And because as long as there are foolish grownups in the world, there will be children who cannot be fooled."

Had this book & loved the illustrations so much that I cut most out & framed the. My niece is having a baby so I bought this. It is in good condition - just awesome illustrations.

Its like memory lane. I read it as a child

The illustrations are fun, and the story is brilliant. This book has, unfortunately, because very relevant. I hope parents bring it back as a bedtime (or other time) story. Andersen was a perceptive, sensitive genius.

This version of the Emperor's New Clothes cleverly avoids the inherent challenge of how to portray the naked Emperor at the end of the story by having all of the characters be animals. Other recent versions even show him wearing underwear - a solution to the challenge, but in my mind, not true to the original tale. The illustrations are fabulous, and the moral of the story is still the same - an important one for both children and adults.

Great story to tell kids which carries a particularly poignant message considering what's going on in the world!
