Daddy Kisses (Daddy, Mommy)

I know the title says "Daddy Kisses", but your child(ren) won't really care who reads this to them. All they will care about is that whoever is doing the reading will also (hopefully) be doing the re-enacting of what's going on within the pages. (Simply substitute the word "Daddy" for "Mommy" or "Auntie"' etc).The book is well built. And it's small enough for a toddler to carry or hold themselves. (So be ready for them walking over to you clutching the book and adorably requesting you to read it). The spine is also unique enough for a toddler to recognize on the bookshelf. The wording is straightforward and the pictures are simple enough to understand what's happening on the pages.Terrific for bonding!

Check out my review for Mommy...I have given these books to new parents for over eleven years.The original set is out of print, but these two and maybe a few others are reprinted and absolutely fantastic for new parents and babies as they grow.Frankly, our ten-year-old grandchild still loves to look at these books when they visit.

Great Daddy/Daughter book. I bought it for my husband for his first Father's Day and it is part of our nighttime ritual. Our six month old baby girl will crawl over and reach for this book off of her bookshelves and gets a huge smile on her face as soon as my husband begins reading the very first page. It is incredibly simple and so precious how it goes through each daddy animal and where he kisses his baby animal. It gives my husband an opportunity to give baby big smooches, just like the frog and the giraffe and the lion. Baby girl loves it and giggles each time. This is a perfect gift for any father or father figure looking to bond with their baby early on with a book.

What a sweet little book! Bought it for my son in law to read to his new baby daughter (my granddaughter). I wish there were more daddy books that are about daddy as nurturer as well as fun guy. Dad's are so much more than the rough and tumble fix everything.

While I wasn't thrilled with the artwork in this series of books, it is still a cute book. We can go over all the different kinds of animals in the book, be silly on each page and mimic what the animals are doing, and these books have taught our son that he is not the only person/creature who has someone that they call "Mommy" or "Daddy". He would at first point to us very confused when we started reading the book, like "Hey, YOU are Daddy/Mommy!" but very quickly caught on and starts pointing at the "parent" animal and the baby animal exclaiming "Daddy/Mommy Bear(or whatever animal)" or "Baby Puppy! (or whatever)". It's endearing, and educational as they learn about this part of life, and differentiate between all the animal species, learn new words, and these books are fairly small too so our son carries them around the house pretending to read them all day too. Cute stocking stuffer or present for Mother's/Father's day for the new parents!

I bought this book for my partner to read to our daughter when she comes. I absolutely love it! It has several animals in it which is great for teaching some new words. Also such a great daddy baby bonding book!

I gave this small but sweet board book to my husband when we found out I was pregnant. It is a nicely illustrated book showing a different animal daddy and child on each page with a simple statement saying how each daddy kisses his child. Whether by nuzzle, hug, kiss or lick, this sweet book is a great read for an infant or small child, giving even an awkward first time father (or an experienced relaxed one) opportunities with each turn of the page, to snuggle in a new sweet way with baby.
