Review: This chair is saving my poor back - Suddenly having to work from home at my laptop all day due to COVID-19 and not having a proper desk or desk chair at home, was killing my back. I got the Capisco two days ago and am loving it so far. It's comfortable to sit in forward, backward, and sideways, and encourages movement throughout the day. The seat back feels great on my back. The seat tilts and has a tilt lock, seat height, and seat depth adjustment that are easy to adjust. Assembly is super simple, you only have to tighten one bolt with an allen wrench to connect the back to the seat, and then drop the lift and seat onto the base. It took me less than a minute. The only caveat is that for this chair, as sold, the lift may be too high for a standard office desk height (28-30"). It's best for a higher desk or an adjustable desk. If you want to use it with a fixed, standard height desk, you will need to order a shorter pneumatic lift to replace the one that comes with it. My "desk" is more like a dinner table height (31") and the lowest height on this chair feels about right.

I have read some mixed reviews for this chair, but it works perfectly for my needs. I am a medical professional who wears a long white coat with pockets, so any chair with arms is just awkward. This chair allows me to slip onto the seat quickly in-between patients and allows me to get up quickly without any restriction. It's comfortable for my needs, and I like how it rocks back. The base of this chair is really sturdy and well-made with good casters. I honestly don't have any complaints with this chair, although I think the idea that the chair allows you to sit in several different positions is a silly gimmick.

**Q: How many hours can you sit on this compared to a regular office chair? Do you feel you need to switch to a regular chair after a while?**
A: Coming from an ergonomics expert, yes you can! The height range of this chair is designed for counter/bar height surfaces or height adjustable surfaces. The main purpose of the chair is to “perch” which is the best position for your body to maintain blood flow. You are not meant to sit all day, nor is it any better to stand all day. The saddle seat makes it hard to slouch and keeping your knees below your hips alleviates many back/hip/leg problems. I also have an old back injury that has led to a plethora of other back/hip problems and have sat in this chair almost every day for 6 years, 6-8 hours a day and never want to go back to another chair. It takes some adjustment. You WILL be sore the first few weeks because the chair will retrain your body how to sit upright which engages different muscles than you’re used to. The arm style will also help people with neck/shoulder pain from sitting since you cannot work and rest your elbow at the same time.

**Q: Is it normal for the back to wobble a bit?**
A: No. Mine has always been quite stable. If yours is wobbling it may need tightening or simple factory replacement.

**Q: What level of padding would you recommend? Which model did you get and would you get the same or more/less if you bought again?**
A: The Capisco, (HAG Model #8106).  I really, really like this office chair.  I would definitely purchase this same model again.  It really works.  I have had it now for about 18 months.

it's a great chair, I like how you can sit in it in a variety of ways that aren't just a gimmick. I find myself sitting in it sideways leaning to the side as often as sitting in it normally. it's been great for my back. after a few weeks of using it, I switched back to my old chair because it's a bit more comfortable and I immediately noticed a lot of back pain so I switched back. my only gripe with it is there's not a lot of cushion in the seat which can be uncomfortable after sitting for long periods of time.
