## Description

The Redwood is a "heavy-duty" oversized rectangle bag. The Redwood series use Techloft Insulation. Techloft Insulation consists of multi-hole staple-length micro-denier fibers that have a siliconized finish for maximum insulation, loft, and compactness. The TechLoft insulation will keep you warm and toasty on those colder nights when you'd prefer to have more "wiggle room" than you get with your mummy bag. It uses 2-layer offset construction to eliminate cold spots. For transporting, we include 3 webbing straps with quick-release buckles that keep your "rolled-up bag" secure.

Review: BEST camping bag ever! - When my power went out for three days last year (Dec 2018) and I froze my butt off (single-digit numbers outside) I vowed "never again" and bought this bag. I'm so glad I did. I've had it in my van, taken it camping to test it out in cold temps, and have been sweated out of the bag at 18 degrees. I have no doubt it will be my cave if the power goes out again this year. It's NOT something you can take backpacking. It comes compressed and once you release those straps this sucker is BIG. Rolled up it is 18 inches high. It's durable as hell. This is the LAST sleeping bag I will ever have to buy (I'm 64 years old) unless my cats pee on it, or aliens steal it, or something insane happens to it - fire, etc. but it will NEVER wear out in my lifetime - even if I live to be 100. If I do live to be 100 it's the one thing I will insist on taking to the nursing home with me. The inside is flannel - the good, thick kind, not the cheap stuff. It's soft, warm, cozy, great color that goes with everything. Think "hunting lodge," or "hunting camp" and this is what comes to mind. I can't imagine crawling into a better bag after a long, cold day hunting. Hunters typically DO have ATV's that can haul stuff this size to camp - but don't expect to strap it onto a backpack. I have converted a van into a camper, no heat yet, and this is awesome. I leave the heat running while I get ready for bed, turn off the van, crawl into this bag and I'm toasty and drifting off to sleep in minutes. It's roomy too. I'm 5'3", 165 pounds - (don't judge me. I've lost 100+ pounds and kept it off for 3 years) and I do NOT feel restricted in any way. Easy to move around inside. A much taller, heavier person would be quite comfortable inside it too. I just have this photo of the bag on a shelf in my office. I wasn't thinking about writing a review until desertcart asked me to...and NO WAY I'm taking it down to shoot a photo...but trust me, it's amazing. SO Happy I bought it. I'd buy it again. I'd buy it for a friend, I'd buy it for a homeless person who lived in a tent....seriously. This is the real deal - a great bag that does what it says - keeps you warm in COLD weather. Most bags will keep you warm at 10 degrees above their rating - like a 20-degree F bag will keep you warm at 30 degrees F, but NOT at 20F. I truly believe this bag, if properly situated on a closed foam pad, out of the wind, dry, etc. would keep me warm at -20F. I don't want to test it in those temps of course, but yes, it will keep most of you considering it toasty and comfy I'm sure. If I were in Alaska, or MN, or someplace where winter and cold temps REALLY SUCK, I'd pair it with a bivvy bag or some sort of "outer" bag if temps were predicted to hit -20F or lower, but I'm guessing that most readers are like me - van dwelling, car camping, in a lodge or other situation where you don't really need to be a survivalist. If you ARE a survivalist, you'll still love this bag for its durability, warmth, comfort, etc. When the zombie apocalypse hits, this is what you want to be sleeping in...assuming you can sleep during a zombie apocalypse.
Review: Very cozy and soft. 🤤😴 - I bought this for camping in Colorado, and it does the job well. It's heavy duty, well built and a bit heavy, I think I'll be using this for years to come. 💪 It was very warm, cozy, soft and I had some of the best sleep, camping, in a long time. 🥰 It's nice and big and I feel the weight was just right. It has a nice chunky zipper that probably will outlast time, and has the perfect sound, and it vents at the foot of the bag if you want. I paired my sleeping kit with a thermarest mattress which was heavenly. Highly recommend the bag, 10/10. 🤌

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Huge, warm, comfortable
*by J***8 on December 10, 2012*

Once or twice a year, I find myself needing a very warm sleeping bag for cold-weather camping. I previously had a 20-degree rated bag that would do fine for most temperatures above zero, but last winter I had to camp in some -10 degree weather, and it was simply unbearable. That miserable experience forced my hand to buy two (one for my wife, one for me) of these bags. I have finally used the bag and feel I can write an accurate review. I'll go over some pros and cons, and then give my overall opinion. If you want the one-sentence version, scroll to the bottom. Pros - HUGE. I am not a big guy, but I still enjoy my space when I'm sleeping. This bag allows me to roll over and stretch out as necessary without the restrictions of a mummy bag or smaller rectangle bag. My dad is a large guy (6'3", 230 lbs), and on our recent hunting trip, he used my spare bag and commented on how big and comfortable the bag is. - Warm. It did not get down to -10 degrees this year, but it did get down to about 20 degrees, and I had to have the bag zipped open to allow some cool air in. I have no doubt this bag would be comfortable in sub-zero (fahrenheit) temperatures, likely approaching its -25-degree rating. - Durable. Having only owned this product for one season, I have to project its durability, but the canvas exterior, heavy duty zipper, and thick interior lining have me believing this bag will last me many years to come. The only parts I question somewhat are the straps for rolling the bag. I would guess that they might be prone to breaking after a few years if you get too forceful when trying to roll up the bag. Mine are fine, and showed no signs of flexing or breakage upon my first few uses, but the plastic buckles and stitching on the straps seems much less "heavy duty" than the rest of the bag. - Cost-effective. Most bags I was looking at that promise this sort of warmth were at least twice as expensive. Cons - HUGE. I know I listed this as a pro, but it can also be a con. If you need to hike with your bag, DO NOT get this. It weighs 13 pounds. If you have limited storage space for your camping equipment, you might want to reconsider. This bag takes up roughly twice the space of a "normal" sleeping bag. The compression straps allow it to be rolled in two configurations. The full width configuration will be approximately the same size as two standard-sized bags placed side by side. The half width configuration will have about twice the diameter of a typical sleeping bag when rolled. - Warm. Another pro that can be a con. If you intend to regularly use this bag in 40-degree temps, I would strongly suggest getting a different bag that is not quite so warm. If it's above freezing, you will likely need to unzip. - Cool spots. The cool spots are not bad for a bag of this size. I say "cool" and not "cold," for a reason. However, if you do happen to roll over to get comfortable, you will notice that your new position is slightly cooler. In my opinion, the temperature change is no more noticeable in this bag than when I roll over in my bed in my climate-controlled home. OVERALL RECOMMENDATION: If you want a very large (too big too hike with), very warm (too warm for above-freezing), comfortable bag to use in extremely cold situations, I think this is the best bag out there for the money.
