How long do you think this will take for me to complete?** A: If you have never cross stitched you would be wise to start with a small piece with two or three colors to get used to handling the needle, thread and material. I am 83 years old and have been doing cross stitch for many years. With all the shading in that piece and the size(11 x 11) I feel it would take me 6 months to a year to complete---and I have a lot of time to spend on my needle work. GOOD LUCK. **Q: Is the aida cloth printed on?** A: There are two types of cross-stitch, printed on the fabric and Count cross-stitch. Count cross-stitch you go by the map/graph and mark off the stitching as you stich and the printed has the image on the aida cloth. Count cross-stitch is always more beautiful. Anyway how to know? When you see it advertised, it will say "Count Cross-Stitch" (where you follow the scheme/map and will be regular/printed on the cloth otherwise. This particular product is not printed on. The ad specifically states that it is "Count" cross-stitch. I've purchased cross stitch kits before, and the thread was often just jumbled together in a knotted mess. These are neatly and orderly attached to a piece of cardboard, and labelled intuitively.-The end result really is gorgeous.And that's about it. Things I didn't like:-The pattern is much more difficult than it needs to be. Whomever wrote it had either never cross stitched before, or was using some weird method I've never seen.-The aida cloth is just cheap. It looks cheap, it feels cheap, and it falls apart while you're working on it. I ended up using some of my own after only an hour of working on this. This solved the cheapness problem, but the light green leafy background in the product image is, unfortunately, printed on the aida that comes with the project, and as such, it is not present in my finished product. That said, it wouldn't be all that difficult to just add one in with pale green embroidery floss on your own.-The needle is horrible. It's much too small for a project like this, and it is essentially impossible to thread. I used my own.This is an ok product. It includes everything you need to make the design, however, aside from the floss and the pattern, you'll end up using your own items anyway. I do not recommend it for beginners, as the pattern really is pretty difficult to understand.
