They work great on thinner fabrics like cotton. **Q: Is the rod and the die that is in the pliers the correct size to use for the snaps Size T5 or do I need to change the die.** A: A size T5 is also called a size 20 most common ones used. I have bought to sets with snaps and pliers together. Both was already set up for the T5 or size 20. My pliers have to other sizes you can change. But I only use size T5 or 20. I would only buy Kam Snaps and pliers. Cheaper ones do not work as well. Hope this helps . **Q: Will these pliers work with metal rivets?** A: If the metal rivets are soft like the plastic, then yes. I use grommets that look like metal but are soft.
