Compact, simple and reliable
Needed a compact reliable basic printer that works without messing with inkjet head cleaning every few months, so opted for this mono laser jet. I set it up to WiFi using the WPS button method without needing to install the HP Smart app, no issues, and it is now setup and working with iPhone, android and windows 11. So far so good, much faster and sharper text that my old Epson inkjet, I wish I got a laser printer earlier. I will avoid HP firmware updates and try third party toner when my cartridge runs out.

Good printer let down by not being user friendly, hopeless faults and the toner scam that HP runs
Good sized compact printer, looks nice and unobtrusive, print quality is decent and it's fairly quiet.Connectivity and toner are something else though. When it finally connects it isn't long before the warning light flashes and it won't print. It doesn't specify what's wrong with it, you'll have to sign in to your HP account (which you MUST have before it works) to find out, and that's not guaranteed. Not user friendly in any way, everything seems to be a struggle and the support is worthless. The worst bit is the toner. It's very expensive and runs out fast, and if you've signed up for HP+ and then cancelled the spare toner cartridges you may have just stop working altogether. So you're forced to buy HP toner at £50-£60 each. The printer itself was only around £90.That's a good thing because it's going in the bin in favour of a printer that I don't have to open a joint account with and surrender my personal data.P.S. - Also discovered that account support is non-existent and it's impossible to delete your account. Looks like HP will have me on its books for a while. Worse than worthless.

Excellent print quality and speed
Beautiful quality and size is great - ready to have wifi printer so my families iMac, MacBook and iPad can all print .But the software set up is totally painful and slowSo really good quality printer, AND if you're patient with the set up it's great

Easy to setup and use
If you discount the time it takes to enroll in the HP ink service the printer is straightforward and quick to setup. We are light users so no more than 10 pages printed at a time. Quick to start up and prints clearly with no streaks, smudges or light areas but we do only print invoices and spreadsheets.

Great productPress the left side of the power button to turn off and put your location on.Then it works perfect. Price is very good and it is compact perfect for home use. It is a lot faster than my ink jet printer.

Failed Connectivity After a Few Months
Started off enjoying the product despite the extreme excess of bloatware I had to install on my phone and computer and numerous account setup to get it to work. It printed on both sides (manually), fast, and cheaply. We received another toner cartridge the month after, so wouldn't run out for a very long time. The way you get these is electronic updates sent to HP via WiFi when the ink is low.Fast forward a few months and it disconnects about 5 mins after turning it on from the wireless hub in the room directly below. We haven't done anything differently except allow it to install presumably a breaking firmware update. Here's a tip HP: if it's not broken, and you're not improving any of the core functionality: don't fix it.The only way to diagnose this cheap rubbish is by the flashing lights on the front and scrolling to page 60 of their not-included manual on the website. For Laser printer users: if it's cheaper than the rest, there's a reason. Thought we'd be saving money by getting this over an inkjet. Avoid at all costs.

Perfect size, great quality print, useless at printing in large batches
I bought this to print bingo tickets on glossy paper, my inkjet printer ink would run on the paper, and when marking off numbers with Dabbers the ink would smudge, so I moved to laser and it does the job beautifully. Only problem is, it printed the first 30 of a 99 card job and then went into cooling mode, and is now printing at a rate of two pages per 5 minutes. The print quality is great, and I’m sure if you’re printing single invoices or 2-3 page letters it’s great, but a large print run 30+ pages at a time will cause this machine to go into a meltdown.I love it’s size. Unlike other people I had no issues with connectivity. I’m more than happy to use it with HP products (which it tracks by monitoring how many pages you’re printing and automatically sends you replacement ink) I rarely print, except for the occasional bingo ticket run, so I’m sure if I limit the size of the run in future, we’ll be fine. For its price it’s a good little machine… (on day one, I’ve yet to see if it ages well) and I love its compact size, you can store it on a narrow shelf out of the way.For the occasional use in a home office it’s perfect.
