Indestructibles: Hickory Dickory Dock: Chew Proof ยท Rip Proof ยท Nontoxic ยท 100% Washable (Book for Babies, Newborn Books, Safe to Chew) [Pixton, Amy, Sickler, Jonas] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Indestructibles: Hickory Dickory Dock: Chew Proof ยท Rip Proof ยท Nontoxic ยท 100% Washable (Book for Babies, Newborn Books, Safe to Chew) Review: she loved to crumple it - At about 5-6 months old my baby developed an insatiable taste for paper... she loved to crumple it, crunch it, wad it up, and put it in her mouth. After a couple of Sundays with corners of church bulletins chewed off and wads of soggy paper pulled from my baby's mouth in my purse, I knew we had a problem. The "indestructibles" books seemed like the perfect solution. At first I thought it was too good to be true, but I bought one to try it out anyway. Sure enough, my baby product tested it like a star. She tried to rip, she tried to chew, she tried to moisten the pages in order to rip and chew by sucking/gnawing on the book for extended periods... all to no avail! Even after being jammed in the diaper bag and crumpled by other toys, these books remarkably retain/rebend to their original shape. And to baby, they look and feel and SOUND like paper! Overall, GREAT quality product, beyond DURABLE, and great pictures to boot! (Though, for our purposes, this part was truly optional) Some reviewers have complained about the lack of words. I was a bit disappointed by that at first too when I first flipped through the books in a store, but then I realized, "Do I really need a book to say 'Deer' for me to point it out and tell my baby, 'That is a deer!'" Likewise, with some of the Nursery Rhyme varieties of these books, I KNOW the Nursery Rhyme, and my grabby chewy baby rarely has patience to sit and listen to a story in sequential order anyway... and when she does, these probably aren't the books we're reading! (Again, I bought them for the indestructible quality) That said, I do like the themes, the rhymes, and the multi-culturalness of many of the books in this series. The book does exactly what it claims to do and beautifully so! But, one caveat... If your baby likes to eat paper like mine, you may just be out of luck. After she realized the book meant it when it said 'Indestructible' she set it aside and went right back to eating her sister's school work and my church bulletins! Review: Little Book Worm - I love Indestructibles. They are great for babies. I raise bookworms, so it is fabulous to have books for the littlest that I don't have to worry about them chocking on or destroying. These are also great for bath reading, even for older children. (Yes, my kids sometimes want to read in the bathtub.) The pictures are vivid and interesting. There are no words, but we all know the rhyme, so you can say the rhyme while "reading" it if you'd like or you can just let them enjoy the pictures. These have proven to indeed be indestructible, so far.

One of our favorites and we don't have to worry about getting it destroyed.
I love the indestructibles series. They are...indestructible! I first saw it at a local library, and I had to get them for my toddler. I wish I had known about these books 2 years ago. Their nursery rhyme series only have the words at the outer cover. Each page is full of wonderful colors and drawings, so you can sing the rhyme, just talk about the pictures, or make up a story! Hickory Dickory Dock is set in London, so the mice are complete with their rain gear riding in a double decker through London. They climb up Big Ben, and cross London Bridge. We enjoy singing songs and looking at the pictures.

Takes abuse from a baby pretty well so far
The book is shorter than I expected and has only graphics and no text, which was disappointing. But the material definitely holds up as advertised.

Truly indestructible
My 6 month old loves this book and it is truly indestructible. He has made it really crinkly and loves chewing on it and crumpling the pages. I chose the hickory dock dock book over other ones because it has very cute art work and I can read the nursery rhythm on the back while I turn the pages. Some of the other books are just picture, which are also nice, but I like to actually read him the book sometimes.

Durable
I have had these books for about a month now. My toddler is very destructive sometimes and these have not budged. My 9 month old also loves and chews on them and they still hold up! Would recommend. Will definitely get more!

Disappointed in this Indestructibles book โฆ
No words to read to your child. Illustrations are boring. Clock stays at 1:00 on all the pages โฆ guess itโs 1:00 AM cause the colors are quite dreary in my opinion. Donโt waste your money on this one. 2 thumbs down.

Great for my little book biter (short and to the point review)
(For those of you who are like me and like a short and to the point review. If you are looking for lengthy details, alas that is not me :) BRIEF OVERVIEW: After my baby (who LOVES books) started sinking her new little teeth into her books I started the hunt for books that I wouldn't have to stress about her having as her afternoon snack. This is a wonderful book, bright pictures (although no words - which is fine, the books with words I read to her, and don't have to worry about her eating while I am around), and most importantly this book lives up to it's name, she has not destroyed it as of yet. An extra bonus. These books are machine washable!! WHO IS THIS BOOK FOR: Little ones like mine who love books and love to eat them just as much as read them. THE BOTTOM LINE: Would I recommend this book? YES! PS check out my other reviews. I'm a picky first time mom that has spent a lot of time and energy (and $$$) researching and buying some great (and some not so great) products for my little love.
