HEYTRIP SUV Tailgate Tent with Poles & Stakes, Waterproof Camping Awning

We like this tent-it adds a lot of ventilation to our van when we go camping. We've taken it on three or four trips now. The quality seems decent (basic lightweight nylon) and the design fits well on our 2017 Toyota sienna. So far the zipper is holding up. It's easy to put on-easier with two people, but one person can do it as well. We never use the available cording at the top and attach it to the front of the car because it fits tightly enough around our back hatch. As you can see, it doesn't fit around the bottom bumper great but that has not been an issue at all. Just remember, you don't want to start your car with this over the back if it's in front of or around your tailpipe! As seen in one of my photos, we have a couple of really heavy duty magnets that we attach at the sides so there's no gaping for bugs to get in. Otherwise, it fits quite tightly on our make and model of van. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with tent poles for the back. I bought some from another seller and because they don't have stakes on the bottom they don't really work. (Buy after market poles that have a point at the top to put into the tent flap grommets and that have stakes at the bottom so they will be secure and stand up!) We haven't always camped close enough to trees to tie the canopy flap out. This last trip, we just tied the string into the end of the canopy flap and staked them to the ground.

I bought this because my husband and I like to go camp at the beach and we have to take so much stuff. Was trying to cut down gear. It worked better than I had hoped. It was easy to set up and held up in the wind. Instead of a tent and a canopy we now only have to take this. This was a great buy for the price. Would totally recommend!

I received this car tent today and tested it in my garage. It had a slight smell to it so open it up before you use it the first time (dissipated in 24hrs). Material seems reasonably durable and of good quality. However, on my car (2021 Nissan Rogue) the sides and the top do not fully seal even trying various tie down methods etc. -- see the first two pics. In fairness part of the issue on the top is my antennae. Not a huge deal unless you are in a mosquito infested area but I'd like the option of a better seal/less space for unwanteds to enter. The solution I came up with (pic 3) was magnets. My little circle magnets get me part way so I'm buying magnet strips to basically attach the tent to the sides/top of my car. If they work I may use adhesive ones to permanently attach them to the tent and avoid worrying about losing. Additionally, from the looks, I think/hope that with magnets I won't actually need to tie the tent to my car unless it is particularly windy. I would love to see this company ship said 10$ magnets with their product and/or even providing places for the magnets to slide into (that would get them 5 stars!).

Fits my 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan perfectly. Only trick if it gets caught on rear windshield wiper. One person set up and take-down. Quick and easy! Sun shade can be rolled up and tucked away, extended with included poles, or strapped down for semi-privacy or rain. Not black out.

We love this camping accessory. It works well enough but there are gaps where bugs can get into the car. We had to purchase poles separately and it's much nicer with them.

Let me start by saying I love it. The only reason it gets 4 stars in installation is because, when I opened the package originally, it was not intuitive. I am also a 5ft woman traveling alone with my GSD, so figuring out how to tie it to the roof rack of my vehicle was a little difficult at first. So… if you have the same problem I do and are vertically challenged, try it at home first! Install it and take it down a few times so you get the hang of it before you’re in the middle of nowhere and can’t figure out which way is up/down and in/out. “Pro” tip: shiny side faces in and the side with the 4 tabs are for tying it to the top. Other than installation issues in the beginning, the tent worked beautifully. Also I am not paid to write this ad, I am just super satisfied with my purchase. It fits back into the bag it came in without issues, I just roll it up and stuff it in. Lol. It went with us to 5 different states over a week and I was absolutely thrilled at how we fared with the elements. One morning we woke up in 28 degree weather and honestly I had no idea until I unzipped the net the next morning. Another morning we woke up to a thunder storm and we had no water leaks. All around a great value if you are car camping and are looking for this kind of setup.

WARNING!!! This WILL cover your exhaust, either use a stick or something to hold the lip up or do NOT run your vehicle while installed. I didn't learn the hard way thankfully but it's better to look out for others that might miss it. Takes a little figuring out to get installed correctly. My suggestion is, instead of tying it to your mirrors, open your back doors and tie it to INSIDE of the steel loop the door closes on. This will pul the sides in tighter and not block your doors. Also use some clear packing tape on the sides of your car if you're camping in a sandy, windy area like a beach, otherwise you'll get scratches like I did. See pics. This is not a flaw of the product so much as just I had VERY high winds and lots of sand everywhere. Speaking of high winds, this held up great. I 100% expected it to tear but it held up perfectly for an entire week of high winds. If set up correctly, you'll love this thing.

YES IT FITS A MINIVAN! 😁 Takes a whole 2 minutes to instal alone. Fits nice and snug, I don't even have to tie it down, the elastics do the job. Instantly turns my minivan camper into a tent trailer. So much more headspace. Easy to access items in the van or under the bed and you can use it ad an exit. I love sitting at the end of the bed and looking out the back at the vie of the lake. Makes a comfy sitting space away from the bugs. Folds up easily into its carry bag and takes up little space. I also love that there are no poles to loose or break. The awning is so convenient and easy that I don't even use my $1500 roll out van awning, or my kitchen tent.
