The slots in the bed frame(s) must be the same to accept the rail hooks. **Q: What are the hook specs?** A: Iā€™m not really sure what you are asking. We bought a hand carved bed made in the 1800s. This conversation works the same as any other hook frame. Works great! A little squeaky though. **Q: will this work with a foot board as well or can additional hooks be added to the end for a foot board?** A: This will not work without a foot board. The only hiccup was that we used a piece of 3/4" plywood as a platform -- even a low profile box support made the mattress sir up too high.
