Arrived earlier than expected. Blade is super sharp and top quality. All in all very sturdy construction with a nice satisfying weight. I shall name mine "Crashing Wave."

Solid steel sword
The patterned steel is real nice on this sword, considering that it is not so very expensive. I am not sure if this is a "Damascus" steel, but it looks real good. The sword itself is more on the soft side but has a good sturdy quality to it. It's a tachi, which means that it is a very specific single edge cutting tool. It cuts well, but what is "battle ready"? What battle are you going to fight with this sword? The one in your backyard? Most likely so. Enjoy it for its craftsmanship and overall aesthetic value and be very cautious and safe with this archaic sharpened piece of metal.

One little detail
This sword is extremely well made and razor sharp, my only issue is the tarnish on one side of the habaki. The saya is beautiful and the overall curvature and balance of this piece is top notch.
