I’ve gotten years of use out of this and it’s still going strong! It can grip onto most surfaces with a little manipulation and occasionally the legs will pop apart but are easy to put back together. Holds both my phone and my DSLR!

Legs get loose and flimsy after a while.

I bought one of these many years ago and for the last couple years I’ve had to fight with it to get it to hold position with my iPhone attached. Then I noticed the articulating “beads” becoming loose due to stress cracking making the whole thing floppy. The old one would never fold “flat” (90°) like this new one does, so I was always forcing it into position to get it into my backpack, the force finally caused the cracking. Apparently the engineers at Joby figured this out and redesigned the articulation at the top so it now bends 90° at the top common joint. Out of the box this new one is tight, and folds perfectly! I hope this change makes this one the last one I need to purchase. Great redesign! The photos show the new one opened, folded and another showing the old one (minus the top common articulating bead because I couldn’t find it in the trash) next to the new one to show the comparable size. The new one is actually slightly smaller than the old design…bravo!

It's much smaller than expected and feels very light and cheap. The legs and head are both very short, But they seem to work fine if you are only wanting to use it as a tripod and put your phone in a horizontal position. However, it's pretty useless as a tripod if you move your phone into any kind of vertical position, as the legs get in the way and there's no way to position them to get it to not fall over. On the plus side, the joints in the legs have stayed tight and held their grip around most objects, albeit because of it's small legs, they won't grip anything that's bigger than 1 1/2 inches in diameter very well. Though the phone clamp does fit and hold my iPhone 13 Pro (including an Otter Box Defender case) with no trouble. I'd say that unless you're just going to use it as a single position tripod and nothing more, you'll probably want to pass on this and buy something better.

Great value. This little bendy gem is versatile and pretty light weight. I use this if I am on the go and I don't want to carry the "big" stuff. It holds the position pretty well. The little balls are a bit stiff until you have used the tripod a bit and had a chance to break them in. I like these little tripods a lot.

The small (about 6") tripod was great for my needs. The flexible legs makes it sit just about anywhere. Iphone grips in the tripod well and with the phones timer, or video, the photography begins.

What a waste. I thought this would be a great way to put my phone on my tripod without having to disconnect my gopro, but that's not how it worked out. The legs' grip strength is laughable, barely supporting my phone, whether just standing on the ground or wrapped around something. And that was before it snapped apart! While trying to get things secure, one of the spherical elements broke. Not the actual plastic but the mating surfaces where each half joins the other. I managed to snap it back together, but meh. Not impressed with the dysfunctional design. Is easy enough to use, I suppose, but if it can't properly do the one thing I needed it to do, it's just extra weight and wasted space.

I love this tripod! It grips and sits in any position. I love it when I'm sitting on the sofa or in bed to have it hold my phone. The ball socket allows the phone to turn to portrait mode as well. I will use this forever! And I'm going to get some for gifts.

I had a previous mode of this tripod/phone mount but it didn’t fold up very well when not in use. This one has a notch in the silver cylinder so the ball joint allows the camera mount to fold right down beside the legs to become nice and compact. The flexible legs are easy to manipulate, and the spring in the camera mount makes it easy to attach/remove the phone. Some have mentioned that it could be a bit tippy and it can fall over easily, but I find that if I lower the centre of gravity by “squatting” the legs, it is very solid (see pic).

Very useful gadget. Please note some people have said you could not use the phone on landscape mode as it would fall over to the sides, and hence, you should use in portrait mode when taking photos. Actually, by adjusting legs, you can take photos in whichever mode you want. Pls note, this is not some super expensive and overly sophisticated tool, it does the job, good value for money. My wife who is not a super tech savvy person (and not a photographer either) used this stand with ease.
