I’m not an expert at all, but I like it and my best to answer the note question.
I like how quickly the motion of dragging the striker around the outside of the bowl as is resonates (the slower I go the louder it gets, I believe the principle is the same as playing a crystal water glass) and how calming the movement and control of the sound becomes. So many people have asked about notes, and I see there are videos posted here, so I don’t know exactly what you need to know. I took some screen shots of a video I recorded and information gathered from a tuning program while I played the bowl and struck it to make sure the sound was consistent.Learning the terms has never come natural to me even when I play strings, I’ve never been great with pitch or anything like that, so I’m just leaving this information here and I hope this helps! XD (I’m pretty sure when striking the bowl with the mallet is starts at C4# (I don’t know if that even means what the picture shows the sound to be, so refer to that primarily hah) but I don’t know the technical language (c four major?) and as the sound dies off it slides down in tone, but that’s the primary striking note on my bowl, personally. The G5 came up steadily (a little wobble now and then but when my hand was steady, so was the note there, as far as the tone goes.) Basically? If you know music and all that, the pictures will make sense I assume, and if you don’t you’ll know as much as I do about it! Dragging the mallet/striker around the outer circle seemed to always produce the same singing note no matter if I changed the speed or method of holding the angle of the striker or anything. For the price I say it’s a fairly nice starter bowl, though a bit too high pitched for my ear. That’s purely a personal preference. I’ve seen people ‘tune’ them by adding water with larger bowls, but since we can’t be 100% sure of all the alloys in this, I don’t think I’d try it, and I’d definitely dry it with a soft polishing cloth completely afterward before putting it away if I did. I know some of you were concerned that it may contain lead in the metal; You can look around the website at questions and answers on other products if you’re genuinely interested and not just hoping someone will ‘google that for you’ haha. You’ll get a good idea of the metals by looking at listings from other companies in the same style/price range that list components of at least what may be in the alloy they hammer into this shape. I doubt there’s too much difference between the same types in the same price range or size. You’d honestly be surprised at what you can find out with very little effort, if you’re genuinely interested.I hope this helps somebody, at least, even if other people got different results from their bowls!

Lovely bowl but cushion is not the color advertized
Love this bowl - it is exactly what I was looking for in a singing bowl, however the cushion is not the pretty blue that is shown here. Silly as it may sound, the cushion color was the determining factor in purchasing this particular bowl over other similar ones. My cushion came in a not-so-pretty orange/red color and I've had to cover it with additional fabric to allow it to blend in with my space. Disappointing, but love the bowl anyway.

Missing pieces… bowl only.
Can’t say much about this bowl as it is missing the pad and mallet. All I received was the bowl itself.

Genuine Nepalese products at a great price!
I purchased a singing bowl and a number of other Nepalese products from a very nice online store. I decided to see if Amazon offered any similar products and discovered there is a big selection available. In fact, I found out this singing bowl is EXACTLY like the one I bought but HALF the price. Same story with almost all the other Nepalese products I purchased from the specialty store. At first I assumed there would be a quality difference because the Amazon prices were so much lower. Not the case. The products are identical in all respects. Very happy with this bowl and the men’s bracelets I purchased.

Love love love
Love this singing bowl right here. I purchased one for myself and it has been so useful in my meditation/mindfulness practices that I even went back and bought a second one for a friend. I love the size of this item and the durability. I just wish it was a little more affordable for the size, and also the mallet is not felt covered so you have to make sure you really hold it correctly to get the most out of your sound! Would totally recommend for anyone that doesn’t want to spend a ton of money on a larger bowl or crystal bowl!

Good for stocking or small gift
Very pretty and the song is pretty too. Easy to use. There are some impurities in the metal that causes it to scratch during use in a 1 or 2 places aound the top. If you want a quality singing bowl, I would suggest you go someplace other than Amazon. I grabbed this as a stocking stuffer, so it wasn't a disappointmemt to us, but if you want quality, look someplce reputable.

Therapy in the music room
I absolutely love this therapeutic instrument. I ring it once then very lightly circle around the outside of the bowl. The sound is faint in the beginning but increases as you keep circling. It gets so loud at times. From just one slight cling to an amazing sound of peace. I can’t tell you how pleased I am with this new addition to my music room. Correction... I guess I just did .

Hefty bowl with a pretty sound
Great singing bowl. Very easy to use. Sound is lovely. Quality of the bowl is great; it’s nice, hefty brass. Just need to remember to buy a Christmas bag to gift it in, since it does not come in one—only a plastic bag. Cushion is cute too...it’s a tad on the cheaper quality-side. But still looks nice. Highly recommend this product for what it’s worth :-)

Total cheat, neither the bowl and the stick is same as advertised and total no sounds it emits.
Absolute cheating -1. It is not the same one as in the photo advertised in Amazon.2. It does not give any Ooming sound as advertised in Amazon.3. The stick and the base are different.I had purchase few such singing bowls from Delhi 5star hotel outlets and I am totally aware and experienced on such bowls. All these gives perfect sounds covering my huge house at abroad India. Also, when I move the stick keeping water in the Bowl, the water comes up like dancing with the sound. The one from Amazon I purchase is total cheating.I was planning to return it back to Amazon, unfortunately my maid has thrown all the covers. The Bowl can only be used now as a dogs water bowl. This is a total cheat.
