This little DAC and amplifier sounds fantastic, even for £400 I'd be happy with the performance but at £150 it's fantastic value. It's as good as anything I've heard at much higher prices, up to £400 or more. I bought it to use at work, connected to my MacBook pro by USB. I've got several headphones to use when working and this device drove them all exceptionally well, even my Sennheiser HD650. Music sounds very neutral, nothing is pushed forward, the bass is reasonably warm and deep and the whole feel is reasonably relaxed. For example, some Joni Mitchell songs can make cheap equipment sound a little bit shrill or coarse, but this Topping DX3 pro+ works really well, even the song My Old Man is rendered well. The song He Needs Me by Nina Simone has beautifully soft and rich vocals which come through so well, really lovely to listen to. I found myself pausing work to listen to Star 6 & 7 8 9 by The Orb, the birdsong and gentle synth punctuated by the very deep bass made me smile. This is a great little amp, I'm very pleased with it and would highly recommend it at just £149.

Brilliant DAC/AMP clarity of music is above expectations

Streaming via toslink is great quality sound. Cd via coaxial is amazing.

Spent some time reading lots of reviews (Headfi etc) before buying this product. Glad I did as it performs exceptionally well

I bought this primarily to find out if modern ESS Dacs sound as good as they measure and they pretty much do. It also had the feature set I wanted: not interested in MQA and the x2 coax are useful for me.

The power adapter only works with EU sockets, not UK or Irish ones. For a product at this price point, that's a pretty big oversight and shows they don't really care about their customers. The cables they include are way too short at just 1.2 meters, and the quality is poor. You'll probably need to buy longer ones separately, which means extra money and hassle. After using it for a few days, the left speaker started making this annoying hum that keeps changing, even when nothing's playing. Lots of other reviews mention the same problem. If you do any serious audio work or you're sensitive to background noise like people with tinnitus, this will drive you crazy. Things got worse after just a few weeks, especially with better headphones like the Sennheiser HD 660S2. The Topping amp can't handle them properly and starts crackling, then the sound gets completely distorted. Restarting helps for a bit, but it just shows how badly made this thing is. I tried using an optical cable instead of USB, but that didn't help either. The sound keeps skipping no matter what source I use, which points to a basic design flaw in the DAC itself. A quick search online shows this model has a terrible reputation and disappoints pretty much everyone who buys it.

This topping DX3 _pro is great value for money and drives my AKG headphones with ease. The sound stage and detail are fantastic. I stream from tidal into the headphone amp from a node 2i.

This product did ship with a UK (type G) plug. Very happy with the product.

Per il suo prezzo è sorprendente, molto moltissimo dettaglio e potenza in uscita non ne manca... sconsiglio con cuffie molto analitiche o brillanti... io alimentavo delle ananda nano, la prima settimana effetto wow dopodiché la troppa brillantezza stanca... inoltre alimenta dignitosamente delle planari (umane in richiesta potenza) ma non rende onore... per un uso senza pretese assurde è ottimo, veramente ottimo...

I picked up the Topping DX3 Pro+ to clean up my desktop audio situation, and… wow. This little unit is basically a “sorry-not-sorry” upgrade for anything your headphones have been putting up with. First off, it’s ridiculously flexible: USB / Optical / Coax / Bluetooth inputs, plus RCA line-out and a 3.5mm headphone out, so it slides into a desktop setup like it owns the place. And it doesn’t just do one job — it can run as a DAC + headphone amp or as a DAC / preamp depending on what you need. Bluetooth is actually legit here. It’s Bluetooth 5.0 with LDAC (and other codecs), using the QCC5125 chipset, and the neat part is that it routes the Bluetooth signal to the ES9038Q2M DAC for decoding (instead of relying on the Bluetooth chip’s internal DAC). Translation: wireless that doesn’t feel like a compromise For wired listening, it’s also a spec monster in the best way: the XMOS XU208 USB interface supports up to PCM 32‑bit/768kHz and DSD512 over USB. And power-wise, it has two gain settings and can push up to 1800mW ×2 @ 32Ω, so it’s happy with both sensitive IEMs and more demanding headphones. The cherry on top? Remote control + volume/preamp control makes it feel way more “grown-up hi‑fi” than a typical desktop box. I didn’t expect to enjoy a remote this much… but here we are, living my best lazy audiophile life. Bottom line: If you want a compact DAC/amp that does serious sound, real LDAC Bluetooth, and enough inputs to stop cable-juggling — the DX3 Pro+ is an easy 5 stars. It made my setup sound so good I almost apologized to my headphones for how I used to feed them audio

It's a solid headphone DAC. The clicky volume knob is one of those nice touches that makes it feel just a bit more premium. It powers both my Sennheiser HD 600 and my LCD-X without problem (though for the Senns, the high gain setting is necessary). Although I don't use it this way, you can connect to it wirelessly via Bluetooth. The screen is nice and bright, but not intrusive. It doesn't take up a lot of space on my desk. There's not much to the little box, but that's alright - it's straightforward, and what it does, it does well. The sound is clean, and it's a pretty good value if you catch it on sale. You're not gonna get any tubes or anything here, but if you're looking for a simple DAC that just does its job, this is a solid choice.

Sound is really good to me. I really like the look and slim design. Few less positive things: - Navigating in the menu/settings is old fashion and cryptic because lcd is very basic - I couldn't find from the menu how to disable bluetooth to use less power because it's a bit warm. I tried to do what they mention in the manual and I entered the DFU mode which I think is to reprogram the unit :( - I would have preferred a 6.35 jack - Could use a pixel matrix lcd screen to have better readibility Those negative things said, it's a device to play music, not to have fancy menu/display. Worked out of the box with Ubuntu 22.04. Pulse audio configured to play at 96Khz Happy so far of this buy.
